« Aucuba Replica » is the synchronisation between the sound of Adhémar and Olorun. 

The botanical genus Aucuba includes a few species of shrubs native to Central Asia or Japan. Starting from the premise that plants can be multiplied and reborn almost identically, even if each individual remains unique. 
This idea of multiplication and artificial landscape generates our sound atmosphere. We have created a sound replica emanating from our individual practice, by collecting sounds that can combine organic and artificial elements, bringing out the possibility to perceive landscape as an audible geography. 


« Flora Odyssey » plunges us into the middle of nowhere, into numerous small oases, majestic islands with lush nature, where the bewitching and captivating blend of tropical fragrance takes hold of you, never to leave your mind. Flowers and humid heat draw us into a special atmosphere throughout the tracks.

When you take a closer look at all this vegetation you realize that they come from many parts of the world and that they have followed and been acclimatised by humans on their travels to theses isolated islands, far from any continent. Creating through the years a huge garden throughout the archipelago of which we propose you to walk in surrounded by our sound narrative journey.

'Anusaya' that endures pain through wisdom. 'Bandha' that blocks pain with a posture of abstinence. The theme sings the desire to overcome the pain starting with two postures.

The set is inspired around the central theme of the album Ipnopedion made by Timo van Luijk & Frederik Croene. An album superbly built from the hypnosis session that Pier Fortunato Zanfretta agreed to undergo in order to find meaning after he had been abducted by a UFO. A sonic invitation that extracts how it feels to be taken by extraterrestrial forces.

Today’s premiere comes from a label that has, over the last year or so become a close follow for myself and has graced a few of our ‘Bandcamp Pick’ lists. The Mexico City based ‘Secuencias Temporales’, precise artistic vision and breadth of their releases mesh well with us at Delayed and we’re happy to premiere ‘Urama’ off their forthcoming Aucuba Replica release.

If the name doesn’t sound familiar, Aucuba Replica represents the creative output of two Delayed favorites, Adhémar and Olorun. A combination that explores sound design grounded by field recordings and seemingly similar motifs that upon closer inspection contain a multitude of different details. 

Urama and in turn the rest of the release evoke visions of an unnamed jungle, through various states of clarity, light, and dark. The mists obscuring most of the inner workings, with the calls of birds echoing through the trees. Urama is a journey through the depths.

'Urama' is scheduled for release on May 17th

For the release number 018, Oslated is pleased to welcome the Korean-American producer based in New-York : Soramimi. A multi-talented artist who deploys her creativity in the electronic music sphere as much as a composer as a label manager. Indeed she manages the label "Dusk Note" with Cory James who remixed a track from her LP « The World Trembles In My Hands ».
A release composed of 7 tracks that immerses us well in her precise and meticulous work of composition. From the start we are carried away by the flow and the multiple rhythms, the pulsations shift and bring us into a different state supported by alluring layers of intricate and evolving sonic abstractions.
The tracks continue to follow each other and Soramimi continues to intertwine throbbing immersive techno with heady rhythms, like in the track « Oceanic Writhe », which clearly has the dynamics to push us to dance until the end of the night.
The sustained pulsation goes through our whole body, up to the track « Geomancer », where a diaphanous light emanates, inviting us to become aware of all these vibrations.
The atmosphere becomes brighter in the remix of Cory James which closes this release. Our eyes remain closed, our body in motion and our third eye open to radial lights.

Soramimi - The World Trembles In My Hands [OSL018] (Snippets)

"Blood" was created by Sean Botha in the mid 2010's and the intention was to look at the behaviour of the human heart. It was and still is an experimental  track which illustrates the unpredictability of the heart. The track explores irregular beating of the heart with an undercurrent of sound layers mimicking the sound of blood flowing through our arteries and veins. The original inspiration for this track was the composer's lived experience of cardiac complications in their late 20's which resulted in invasive medical procedures as treatment. The track itself gives the listener a narrow window into the composer's experiences. The piece is now part of the suite "The Light"  which is available here on SoundCloud for streaming. Enjoy the music and remember Sean always promises more music and other creative content.
