South Korea's Huinali Recordings (@huinalidub) line up their next release from Brussels-based producer @adhemarmusic. Our pick ‘The Name Of Trees’, an ode to the forest, is awash with heady ambiance and trancelike rhythms.

This is an exclusive session of Vand as part of Mostra Barcelona Festival (@mostrabcn) for HOC. 
"I am on top of the castle; strategic position, checkpoint and contemplative space. The pink light comes out from behind Tibidabo and tells me that the night is approaching from the Mediterranean. Breeze with the scent of spring. The city at my feet is like a game of Micro Machines. And I, as if I were a giant, dance hypnotized the deep and essential beats of a soundscape that I never want to end."

Vand’s (@vandmusic) sets are explorations into story-telling hypnotica with a crossover from ambient to dancefloor material. With releases on Nyame Records (@nyamerecords), a double EP collaboration with Bas Dobbelaer on Something Happening Somewhere (@sohaso) and his solo appearance on Madrid based F-on’s Alpenglühen (@f-ondj), he is now mostly affiliated to the ISOTOOP collective (@isotoop), helping with the organisation of events and transmitting their unique global sonic identity.

"multi-instrumentalist from an early age, I developed my musical universe as a dj a few years back. when I arrived in the medieval city of dinan two years ago, I started to work on a new label called estuary tapes. 

inspired by brittany coasts, the project was born in november celebrating with a compilation gathering artists I love. it reflects my musical  influences beetween deep ambient, dub and breakbeat. in the same time I also started producing and working with electronic stuff. my first track is available on this compilation with this new alias tabensi. 

this selection is a little piece of of my sound ecosystem recorded during a rainy tuesday afternoon. a modern story with nostalgic and ethereal feels."

Imagine a quiet forest path ahead, flanked by trees slowly swaying in a gentle breeze. The sounds, and smells of a natural place unsullied by a frequent human touch. The birds chirping, a stream nearby gurgles along as it continues its march towards the sea, a tranquil place is this. These mental images and more are what spring to mind when listening through the latest from Georgian producer, BLNDFLD and his VIVID ep.

The release draws heavily from natural sounds, and samples as BLNDFLD states, ‘echoing the beauty of nature and resonating with the depths of your being. Each track is a portal to a different dimension, painting vivid images with strokes of harmonies and rhythms. Inspired by the wonders of nature and the vibrant colors of life, this album encapsulates moments of joy, introspection, and beauty.’

Our premiere for the day, is the aptly titled ‘Whispering Trees’, provides the more introspective addition to the release, the bird twitters and rustling textures abound, providing movement and softening the percussion that slowly guides the listener forward, deeper into the forest…

Whispering Trees, and in turn the rest of the stellar VIVID release including remixes by Adhémar and Doltz, will be out on Bandcamp, the 24th of February.

PREMIERE: BLNDFLD - Whispering Trees

Entangled in the mystery of silicon patches, Oviru Eyro tells the story of sonic organisms transcending diapasons across parageographic scapes. An expanding dance floor fantasy, its ephemeral rhythmic structures shake newly born paradigms, awakening a hypnotic, ontological journey of self-exploration. 
Directed inward, the voyage begins with Oviru and concludes in Eyro, completing a 10-track arc with perfectly measured, circular form. Groovy yet abstract, the release casts new meridians from its pulsating bass core, drawing listeners into a space of distant familiarity - eventually dissolving in the deep-processed palette of its own sound.
