A segment of my 3 hour set that was recorded live during the 2013 Ostgut Ton resident's night at Berghain.

Optimo Trax is an offshoot label of Optimo Music for tracks aimed at DJs/dancefloors. Yes, we know there are too many record labels already, but we felt an overriding desire to start another one as so much music that didn't seem quite right for Optimo Music (i.e. music that was specifically designed for dancing) kept coming our way. Like the parent label, Optimo Trax will release music by new artists and excavate forgotten classics.

The next two Optimo Trax releases are from Milan. This first one is four HOT tracks from two self-effacing Milanese maestros. "Acido" is already shaping up to be a club classic and never fails to cause a commotion; it has been thoroughly road tested throughout summer 2013. The other tracks cover all idiosyncratic bases from high grade Sleaze Funk to Spaghetti Western-infused, low-slung house.

This remix of mine was done in the beginning of this year. it was still cold outside and the technoish groove of the original brought me to reinterpret the piece the way i´ve done it. Its called "pandoras reshape" as i had about 8 versions and couldn't really decide where to go with the remix.. This one comes a bit more tough and mighty even its still in a very spacing tempo. With humanizing the elements and shuffle around with different parts of the track i tried to create something mysterious and powerful . hope u like it!

Going for impact and stand-out sound design, VRIL offers 'Thronwagen' - a mesmerising arrangement of synth layers, classic Techno stabs and overlapping themes. Already well-known for his powerful drums and bottom end control, this more musical piece goes a long way to showcase some of the German producer's many other talents.

Echoplex, who graced IMF002, also returns with a suitably trippy and percussive number, entitled 'The Relapse'. Building into a bleepy, freaky, acidic killer, complete with some cleverly deployed rave-vocal samples, filtering in and out of the fluffy aesthetic, the long-serving Polish master is still on top form.

After his wonderful 4-tracker on IMF003 promising talent Thomas Hessler continues his run with the melodic and stark journey track, 'The Escaper'. What is initially shrouded in mystery and melancholy soon opens up into a funky, US vs. UK-styled workout, snapping snares and reduced percussion driving the meandering synth theme.

Label co-ordinator Marcel Fengler drops ’Scion' on the A1, a non-typical, deeper House-influenced jam with a floating, mind-melting soft-focus. Abstract, crafty Techno meets classic Sunday-afternoon vibes in this unique offering.

IMF equals Index Marcel Fengler. After a string of releases for his up to now permanent address Ostgut Ton with Luke Slater’s Mote-Evolver imprint being an exception to the rule, Marcel Fengler establishes his own label to expand his capacity and give a platform also for talented producers or interesting collabos.
