Dreams, an artist known for his label & event series Private Selection, is set to release his first record since 2020 on a new label he founded this year, called Dance Data. 

The B side, 'Vessel', marks one of his first releases at this velocity - each groove feels hypnotic and gives weight into the next moment. A blistering saw bassline tightly sits on top of live recordings of brazilian percussion – and the dark and tribal energy fits the A-side as a perfectly paired, yet still unanticipated counterpart. As his first offering since a 2020 hiatus, it is refreshing to see Dreams pulling from his roots with 'Paraxotica' while also coming in with a more organic approach as is heard on 'Vessel'.

Ugandan rapper and Nyege Nyege affiliate MC Yallah teams up with Berlin-based producer Debmaster to unleash ‘Nzimba Zinyota’ for the 14th episode of the Kuboraum Digital Sound Residency.

Hailing from Kenya and shaped by Uganda, MC Yallah has etched her legacy in the hip-hop realm for nearly two decades. Fluent in Luganda, Luo, Kiswahili, and English, she seamlessly fuses conscious and futuristic hip-hop, grime, punk, and trap into her music. With her rapid, precise delivery and a distinct, poetic, and experimental style, she draws from her own journey to confront women’s issues and champion integrity and self-empowerment.

Her latest release ‘Yallah Beibe’ (2023) via Hakuna Kulala is the fiery follow-up to Yallah and Debmaster's acclaimed 2019 debut ‘Kubali’. After her tour plans were cut short as COVID-19 broke out in 2020, Yallah returned to Kampala and started work on her sophomore album at Nyege Nyege's villa. The process was more complicated this time around, developing pointedly from an initial back-and-forth with Debmaster and flourishing as beats appeared from Japanese producer Scotch Rolex and Congolese club maestro Chrisman. The finished album is an international patchwork of futuristic cyber-rap experiments fastened together by Yallah's unforgettable personality and elastic flow.

Since 1948 to present, Israel’s culture of ethnic cleansing and dispossession of Palestinian Land has devised a perpetual cycle of expulsion. Millions of first, second and third generation refugees continue to inhabit camps, doomed to an impoverished exile. Over a million Palestinians have been killed in exodus from Zionist imposed famine, poverty and displacement, with no right to return to their homeland.

The photographs taken during the Nakba, mirror those taken today of the Palestinians who are being forcibly displaced from Gaza.

This release is dedicated to the men, woman and children who continue to navigate their exile in limbo.

To the woman who innovated our textiles and wrote the history and culture of Palestine with their needles.  

To the men who planted our olive and orange trees, harvested by strange hands.

To the children who had their childhood stolen, separated from the umbilical cords that once connected them to their land.

To the Palestinians who have died in exile, that never...  more

Following up on a cracker split single last year, Overload Liverpool jumps into 2024 firing on all cylinders with a 5 shooter of freaked-out electro, warm house, deep dub cuts, and gorgeous ambient.

Firstly, Liverpool-based label boss Morrison highlights two of his distinct and dissociative styles. On the front end of the A-side, his The Motorist alias provides us with a freaked-out formant-filtered electro that’s bursting at the lips. On the back end, a deep yet bright house cut from his The Cyclist alias, with warm warbling synths layered over his Wurlitzer electric piano and suitably grooved and jaunty beats.

To kick off the deeper B-side of the 12”, Wax Tek, a founder of the Liverpool Soundsystem crew Polyone Audio, hits us right in the chest with his dubbed-out breakbeat wonder, Get Set, which diverges through Balearic, bass music, a delirious breakdown, and hard-hitting breakbeats.

Deeper still, the second B-side from Puncta, another Liverpool-based artist, who last year came to light with their release on Sputnik One’s N-Face, dives into the deep Arctic seas with Snow Crab, an exercise in dubbed-out electro-style bass music.

Finally, Belfast-based Aaron Thomas brings the 12” EP to a fitting closure with Concert², which, washing over the listener, dances like opulent drapes with its ethereal synths that crash to and fro.

A spontaneous track, unthought, unmixed, unrefined, just as I recorded it and my heart conceived it.

Una sera che  ricordavo cose del passato

I had an idea of using samples from my past that I captured at varying points, normally when either excessively intoxicated or illicit substance was at play. 

After being clean for 6 years I decided to take parts of it sonically to remind me what an absolute loser i was for the best part of 15 years and what I could of achieved all that time ago.

Its Sound design was build around personal relics of mine in terms of hardware, and combined with my modern modular system, digital and analogue combination throughout, both hard/software.

The Mixdown was done live onto a video tape, yes a videotape.... I was experimenting with tape loops and i was annoyed with crossover noises so took a look with a USB microscope and was fascinated by the waveforms on the tape, so became interested in using larger tape for more headroom and build a really crude tape saturator with real tape and then ended up building a recorder and bolting them together lol

I did a strange arrangement for me as it has no real centre breakdown with a secondary hook, I wanted to build more of a scene or setting and have it more of a progressive tension that ends up a big roller or whatever ha

Its the first finished track from an E.P I'm working on currently and decided to chuck it on here.
