Nice ! Without ur knowledge u have applied some really good text book style harmony :) Thats what some basic grounding in carnatic music can do!  Esp 2.44 on-wards Arpeggios in the end are a little off sync in the end....not sure if it was meant to be so.

This is the first video song, of my original composition sung by the very talented Meera Manohar. Meera and I co-wrote the lyrics and she took care of the video editing as well. :)

The evolution of this song from the scratch to final version is an interesting one. I had made it as a basic tune that traverses through many ragas; (Karaharapriya, Sriranjani, Reethigowlai, Baageshri as these ragas are very close in their structure) It was a tune that I liked and called it Uncertain (due to it being always changing shades from one raga to another). When Meera heard it, she was really excited and suggested we make it as a proper song. So then the stanza happened followed by the interlude etc ;). Anyway, do listen and share your feedback, likes etc. :-D

Back to my soundcloud garage after ages for working on another favorite. I am a huge fan of Samir Thahir's  Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvvanna Bhoomi (2013). In my opinion its also Rex Vijayan's best musical work to date. Simply couldn't resist myself from creating an extended bg mashup for this totally captivating soundtrack that borders on the realms of reality and fantasy. This musical theme intersperses many layers of selected bits of the movie's bgm score with segments from the title 'Neelakasham' song track as it attempts to capture the essence of Kasi's journey through the heartlands of India in search of Assi, his lost love. A journey that ends up being a one of a kind life changing experience. Rex Vijayan's magical musical score completely engulfs us with its air of mystery, adventure, discovery and a sense of deep self introspection. Hope you all enjoy it :)

It had been a long pending one, the desire to compose something in the raga sahana. Sahana is one of the very beautiful ragas and has a few pieces in film songs which are all huge blockbusters.

EDIT: (11/11/2017) The reception towards this piece had motivated me to start the Beauty of Ragas series.  I have re-recorded and remastered the original track as I was never happy with the quality of the flute recording. I hope you all like it as well now.. :)
