The already-awesome (and creepy?) Binding of Isaac main theme orchestrated by me.

I haven't had the chance to play this game but people have said the main theme is the most memorable theme (also racking up +100,000 views on YouTube!) so I decided to give it a go.

My interest for music began at the age of five; my father introduced the Yamaha PSR-170 into the household. Upon its first arrival, still as a young child, I could care less about the classic keyboard that I would soon get to know better, until one day, out of boredom, I decided to give it a good go.&#13;

Even at the age of five, I had a massive liking for video game soundtracks and music. What better way to break out a new keyboard learning the song you’d like to hear on the piano/keyboard. With my good ear and little knowledge for keys and what they produce, the Super Mario theme song is the first song I had ever learned to play properly on the piano/keyboard. First the right hand section, then slowly onto the left, and then successfully both simultaneously! As my interest for recreating my favourite pieces on the keyboard grew stronger as I grew older I started to learn more and more complex pieces including the Tetris theme A song, Legend of Zelda main theme song, Touhou pieces such as U.N Owen Was Her and Flowering Nights, and a few various pieces I have transcribed from Gameboy Advanced titles such as Lady Sia and Sonic Advanced 2. Fast forward 12 years later, prior to writing this, I’m now able to play the piano at a professional level, self-taught, without ever participating in a single piano lesson. Previously I have had a few evaluations from piano teachers only resulting in them telling me that what I am doing to learn, I’m doing right and that I didn’t need lessons. From then I have always been interested in teaching myself new things. I'm currently self-teaching myself the guitar.&#13;

Off the back of learning to play the Piano on my own successfully I had grown the interest in composition – being able to create my own pieces of music. In 2007, with my very underpowered, Windows XP running machine, I began to practice learning how digital composition works with a free audio program called Linux Multimedia Studio. At this stage I was only practicing what I wanted to learn: How to create my own music. It wasn’t until 2011 where I had released my first ever LMMS song on YouTube. After getting well acquainted with LMMS as I continued to experiment with tracks using different ways of composition through means such as soundfont files and various other VSTis I then began working on an album based off music from a free-to-play video game developed by Three Rings and published by SEGA called Spiral Knights with compositions originally composed by Harry Mack. On May the 4th (be with you) I released my first Spiral Knights remake on YouTube which then galvanised me to create more tracks and eventually get around to releasing it as a full album. On the 25th of August I had released Spiral Knights: Remixed! (my album) to the world. The album had accumulated over 3,000 downloads through MediaFire. Thank you to all who shared and downloaded the album!&#13;

After the release, my forever growing interest in natural instruments, instruments of the orchestra, grew so strong that it made me want to release a bonus track based off Spiral Knights, solely using (not so good) orchestral samples with Linux Multimedia Studio. Shortly after the release, the urge to recreate people’s favourite pieces of music in orchestral form was at an all-time high, forcing me to take what I knew about digital and virtual composition and move from the lovely Linux Multimedia Studio (thank you LMMS for all you’ve taught me!) to the more complex/commercial Fruity Loops Studio: Producer Edition. I then began learning how FL Studio works (which is very similar to LMMS), using Edirol’s Orchestral and created my first ever (decent?) orchestral-quality soundtrack on my YouTube: Terraria’s Underground Hallow. Not too long after, on September 14th my YouTube name was rebranded from IS91Videos (love you buddy) to Indie Orchestra. Since the rebrand, I have created a good amount of orchestrations, from Terraria, to Spiral Knights, to my very own and I continue to do so. I just need the support from you lovely people.&#13;

Indie Orchestra is a pseudonym for aspiring composer and orchestrator Ishmael Simpson (which is myself). Like the genre, Indie stands for independent as Ishmael Simpson (again, myself) is an independent composer.&#13;

Why is your logo a horn?&#13;
The horn is my favourite-sounding instrument in the entire plethora of natural instruments, especially when played softly. A good example of where the horn shines is Dota 2’s main theme (coupled with the choirs) and Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 4 in Eb Maj K.945 Rondo Allegro Vivace (what a mouthful).&#13;
