In Gambella, a western province of Ethiopia , thousands of the indigenous inhabitants have been displaced from their lands so that the government can lease it to foreign companies to establish commercial farms. This is in contradiction to official government policy that forbids local farmers from leasing & selling their farmlands.The government has leased the land at ridiculously low prices to these foreign companies so that they can establish large commercial farms.In order to do this ,thousands of the indigenous peoples have been terrorized & forcibly displaced from their lands. Villagers  have been killed and thousands have fled to refugee camps in southern Sudan. While officially the government says there are no problems, that the inhabitants welcome the changes and that they are doing many things to improve the lives of the indigenous peoples, the reality is something else.Little effort has been made to respect the traditional lifestyles of the inhabitants and to provide them with expertise and tools to improve their own cultivation & to support local farmers. Instead the focus has been to facilitate foreign companies from countries like China, India, Pakistan,Saudi Arabi to create large commercial farms where most of what is produced  will go outside of Ethiopia with little benefit to ordinary Ethiopians except officials who are receiving bribes and kickbacks from foreign companies..

Sur ce projet de I.R  Indigenous Resistance, Dravidian Spirit le track original de DJ Soundar & JKlur, est revisite ainsi que mixer par Dr Das. Il apporta quelques nouveaux elements qu'on peut entendre dans ce mixe. La voix de l'ecrivain Dub Jamaican Dutty Bookman poursuit les pensees de l'Activiste Amerindien John Trudell, ancien president de l'American Indian Movement. Un Activiste dote d'un tel pouvoir oratoir qui etait percu comme une menace par le F.B.I qui detenait plus de 20 000 pages d'investigations sur lui.

"Les Leaders savent qu'on ne peux  faire confiance  a celui qui suit. Les Partisans savent qu'on ne peux  faire confiance a celui qui mene. On dit que celui qui a le plus d'argent detient plus de pouvoir. Ceci n'est pas vrai. Celui qui se fait le plus d'argent est surtout avide! On dit que le pouvoir est entre les mains de celui qui controle le systeme de vote politique. Non ce n'est pas le pouvoir. C'est de l'exploitation et de la tromperie. Mais si nous croyons que ces choses representent le pouvoir donc manifestement nous nous connaissons pas suffisament et nous nous faisons pas assez confiance en nous meme de savoir que nous sommes tous connectees a la source du vrai pouvoir qui est la Vie et la Terre." Le Visionnaire et Musicien Jamaicain Sawandi a aussi contribuer en apportant  une nouvelle texture melancolique au clavier et percussions au morceau. Dr Das a rajoute et mixer subtilemment avec une technique et maitrise d'un Maitre-Dub! Dr Das a egalement  restructurer avec delicatesse  et fait quelques "looping" sur la version originale etheree du morceau, qui a contribuer enormement en prenant sa place dans une nouvelle dimension Dubfull! Le morceau debute avec le son de la voix des enfants de l'Ecole Publique de Bogota en Colombie, lisant en live les mots du passage du livre de Dutty Bookman "Tried & True": Revelation Of a Rebellious Youth", disponible en cliquant sur ce lien ici:  www.createspace.com/3603858.

Ses passages evoquent l'importance de l'Education et du Savoir, ses mots sont peintes a l'entree de l'ecole et qui font partis du murl dediee pour la cause Indigenous Resistance.  Les enfants de l'ecole ont chanter avec choeurs et joies et I.R ont enregistrer en live. Ce morceau a demande beaucoup d'effort et un travail intensif surtout dans toutes les   demarches ainsi que tous les echanges de dossiers, mails et communications a travers le globe.. un special Dub Thanks a Ramjac, Jerome Klur , Dutty , Soundar, Sawandi & The Ghost pour tous leur dub travaux logistiques!

'Leaders know you can't trust one who follows.Followers know not to trust one who leads.They say whoever has the most money has the most power.That's not true.Whoever makes the most money ,basically is greedy !They say whoever controls the political vote system that's power.No thats not power.That's exploitation and deceit!But if we believe these things are power then obviously we dont know ourselves and we don't trust ourselves enough to know that we are connected to the real power source which is life and earth."  Visionary Jamaican musican Sawandi also contributed new soulful keyboard textures and percussion to the track and Dr Das in addition to his subtle and masterful  dub mixing technique did some looping  and restructuring of the beautiful & ethereal  original track that contributed greatly to taking it to a new dubfull place..The track begins with the sound of the voices of children at a Bogota,Colombia school reading live the words from a passage of the book by Dutty Bookman " Tried & True :Revelations Of A  Rebellious Youth" ( available here https://www.createspace.com/3603858)
 The passage talks about the importance of reading & knowledge and as  the words were being painted on the entrance to the school as part of an IR mural  the children read them aloud and IR recorded it .This track was a very intensive one to make and involved alot of email communication and file transfer between different continents of the world ...special dub thanks to Ramjac, Jerome Klur , Dutty , Soundar  Sawandi & The Ghost for all the dub logistical work.Dr Das ' mixing skills were finely honed as he was coming off mixing his forthcoming dub noiz album" Preparing 4 War"

 This is a new track by IR ::Indigenous Resistance mixed by Dr Das featuring

El musica de IR: Resistencia indígena ( www.dubreality.com) "Dejame Passar"pasó por muchas etapas para llegar a la mezcla final que estás escuchando aquí.
Como el Dr. Das nos escribió
 "Primero escribí la línea de bajo de Déjame Pasar para una canción del proyecto DJ's Contra La Fam (que distribuye comida a gente sin recursos en Barcelona) y Simbiosis Kolective en el Hipnotik Fest de Barcelona. Ixquick, de Simbiosis, la escuchó y sugirió recitar el poema Déjame Pasar sobre la línea de bajo y así convertirlo en una nueva pista. Ixquick es de Guatemala y tiene una mezcla de raices mestiza /Maya. También es una gran conocedora de la política e historia indígenas de Guatemala así como de la ciencia Maya. Es una gran amiga de Rosa Chávez, de la que obtuvo el permiso para usar su poema/letra. 
[Rosa Chávez es una poetisa indígena procedente de la etnia maya quiché por parte paterna y de la etnia Kaqchiquel, también de origen maya, por parte materna. Ha publicado varios libros de poesía como "Casa Solitaria", "Piedra" y "Los dos corazones de Elena Kame"]. 
Al estilo de IR, grabó su voz usando el micro interno de la computadora."
IR escuchó una de las mezclas de prueba y le encantó su estilo dub, así que quiso incorporarla a su próximo proyecto. Dj Soundar y Jerome Klur añadieron nuevos sonidos e instrumentación al mix en Francia. Después, Dr Das lo mezcló en el estudio Red Reception de Londres. El track se estrenó en directo en Bogotá en un evento artístico y musical gratuito de DJ Soundar /DubNOIZ / IR y en el que participaron Dr Das, Bantu y Rebel Youth de Colombia. La actuación tuvo lugar frente a un mural gigante de IR en el distrito de la Candelaria y, mientras Dj Soundar pinchaba la canción para un agradecido público, en un muro cercano el grafitero Chite Yarumo pintaba un nuevo mural de IR de Assata Shakur, del partido Panteras Negras. Una fotografía de la tarde del evento hecha por Naira forma parte de la portada del próximo lanzamiento IR29 New Generation Dub. Este trabajo será un EP de anticipo con colaboraciones de Sawandi, Dr Das, Gebre Amlak, Dj Soundar, The Ghost, Jerome Klur, Ramjac y Dutty Bookman, entre otros. The IR :Indigenous Resistance track  " Dejame Passar"  passed through many stages to reach the final mix you are hearing here.
As Dr Das wrote us
" I first wrote the Dejame Passar bassline for a track for the project Artists Contra La Fam who distribute food to homeless people in Barcelona. Ixquick of Simbiosis  Collective heard it and suggested reciting the Dejame Passar poem over it and so making it into a fresh track. 

Ixquick is from Guatemala and is of mestiza /Maya ancestry  and well versed in Guatemala's Indigenous politics and history and Mayan science. She is good friend's with Rosa Chavez who has given her permission to make use of her poetry/lyrics.
[.Rosa Chave is an indigenous poet of the Maya K’iche nation on her father's  side and Maya Kaqchiquel on her mother's side. She has published various books of poetry such as "Casa Solitaria" , "Piedra"  and "Los dos corazones de Elena Kame " ]


 In proper IR fashion, I recorded her voice using the macbook's internal mic."
IR  heard one of the rough mixes and loved its dub feel and wanted to incorporate it into a forthcoming IR project . Dj Soundar and Jerome Klur in France added new sounds and instrumentation to the mix.Dr Das then mixed it at Red Reception studio in London.The track was then premiered live at a free DJ Soundar /DubNOIZ  /  IR  music and art gig  with Dr Das , Bantu and Colombian Rebel Youth in Bogota, Colombia. The gig took place in front of the giant  IR  mural in the Candelaria District and as Dj Soundar played the track live to an appreciative audience a new IR mural of Black Panther  Assata Shakur was being painted in the nearby wall by grafitti artist Chite Yarumo . A photo by Naira  from this afternoon event is part of the cover of the upcoming " IR29 New Generation Dub  " release . This release will be a preview EP  with tracks featuring Sawandi , Dr Das , Gebre Amlak ,Dj  Soundar ,The Ghost , Jerome Klur , Ramjac, Dutty Bookman among others. This will be followed by a full length release which will include this track Dejame Passar .In the meantime enjoy this soaring miltant dub mix from Dr Das and check out his fortHcoming dubnoiz album " Preparing 4 War"

This track which was produced by dub maestro  Herman Soy Sos Pearl features Christiane D , Tohununo , Saevo and kokonda dub.Its a mystical dub track that blends traditional instruments and  sounds from the south pacific islands with hi tech studio wizardy created by Soy Sos in his studio ..add to this the dub beautiful sung vocals of Christiane D  in unison with traditional Solomon island vocals from Tohununo & Saevo and get the " indigenous and sacred...."

The title 3 Lions refers to the name of a house on a hill in Jamaica where Dutty Bookman lived during a difficult period of his life. He refers to it as his Air  base and as he says in this passage of his  book that he reads on this track

“It was the last element for me to include in my deepest meditative states, as I already knew the relevance of fire, water and earth to my life. The Fire Base was where I first realized that my fiery spirit could be controlled as a steady flame, supplying warmth instead of being allowed to spread into a destructive wildfire. At the Water Base, I learned the greatest methods of combating my ego through tapping into a great spiritual unconscious. The lessons of the Earth Base taught me about the irreplaceable value of co-dependency with the planet. All of those lessons fueled each other and prepared me for my greatest lesson to date: the art and science of letting go”

Guava Juice " which is slang in south africa for molotov cocktail....remastered in kingston , jamaica in 2012 by Spider....it also features rupinder kaur reciting excerpts from a poem by revolUtionary indian poet  Bismal .The poem was a favorite of promenient Indian anti imperialist ,anti British revolutionary Bhagat Singh .Roughly translated from Punjabi it means' for oppressed people,one of the biggest obstacles is the realisation that one is valuable as a human being.Now that we have realised  that and achieved our goal of self realisation as a nation as well as a culture,the only thing that remains is to see how much strength is there left in the oppressors arms'

Llevo casi dos horas y media escribiendo y borrando todo lo que sangro por miedo a salpicarte con mis miedos, y es irónico, pues creo que estas ya demasiado lejos incluso para darte cuenta de que sigues siendo parte de las líneas que te escribo. 

Y es que huir sin mirar atrás sería menos complicado si no fuese justamente atrás donde se está quedando todo lo que pudimos ser. Yo no tengo ni tuve ni tendré tanta fuerza como tienes tú. Yo no puedo mirar tus fotografías sin tiritar de ganas de sumergirme en cada una de ellas. En esa sonrisa que me mata y me dio la vida tantas veces. 

Yo no puedo leerte sabiendo que cada verso esta más y más lejos de acercarse a mí. Que lo que duele no es saber que ahora le escribes a ella, sino ser consciente de que lo haces con las mismas manos con las que un día me escribiste a mi.


Ojalá hubiésemos inventado un idioma que sólo entendiésemos tú y yo, un lenguaje que pudiera gritar en plena noche cuando me despierta tu recuerdo y deslizo cuidadosamente mi mano hasta el otro lado de la cama con la intención de encontrarte, y luego morir muy poco a poco al volver a la realidad y ver, que ahí es justamente donde ya no quieres estar. 

Jamás hubiese imaginado que el silencio pudiese llegar a hacer tanto ruido a las cuatro de la madrugada.

Deberías preguntarme por qué no duermo al caer la noche, por qué no cierro jamás los ojos hasta bien pasado el amanecer.  Pregúntamelo. Te diré que tengo miedo de soñar contigo. Te diré que por el día hay demasiado ruido como para caer de lleno en ese mundo en donde te sueles colar y de momento, no cerrar los ojos es la única manera que tengo de poder dejar de verte.

Este tramo de la huida esta acabando con lo poco que quedaba ya de mi. Apenas soy una hoja arrugada con un millón de tachones cobardes por miedo a no poder leerte una vez derramado tu recuerdo sobre el papel. Quizás por miedo a que tú no quieras volver a leerme a mi. Ni a escucharme tan siquiera. Duele(s).


Aún no sé cómo lo has hecho, pero me has convertido en una marioneta encadenada a tus hilos y has conseguido sublevarme a cada uno de tus movimientos. Córtamelos, o haz que vuelva a bailar al son de tus deseos. 

Mira al cielo y dime cuántas estrellas ven tus ojos. Así quizás se a más fácil. Cuéntalas, y dime el número exacto porque desde donde yo estoy sólo puedo verte a ti haciéndole sombra a cualquier constelación. Aquí no estas tú despeinando mis mañanas, mi pelo largo entre tus manos. No estás tú para decirme que las ojeras son la huella que dejan los sueños en los que se besa mucho. Aquí no estás tú y no te imaginas cuánto duele. 

No puedo describirte cuánto dueles.

Apenas me quedan fuerzas para lanzarte esta última bengala y ni siquiera sé si estarás mirando al cielo. Necesito que mires al cielo. Estoy tirada en cualquier rincón de tu cuerpo esperando a que me encuentres para poder decirte que jamás me he alejado de ti.

Que he intentado engañarme, una y otra vez pensando que si escribía un cuento repleto de mentiras, alguna acabaría volviéndose verdad, y lejos de eso, temo que cada uno de esos cuentos hayan destruido por completo cualquier esperanza de volver a leernos. 



No te imaginas cuánto lo siento, ya no tengo fuerzas para volver a coger un tren. Y es que ya no queda sitio en mi piel donde guardar los billetes, sigo repleta de tus huellas dactilares. Han inundado por completo mi cuerpo y prefiero tenerlas a ellas si por más que vaya allí.. tú jamás vas a volver a estar. 



Sigo anclada en la estación en donde nos dejamos los sueños. Me pregunto si aún seguirán allí, si alguien los habrá adoptado y les estará cantando bajito para que se duerman cada noche o estarán muertos de frio, y miedo, sabiendo que llega el invierno y no dormiremos en la misma cama para acunarlos. Ni serán nuestros labios sus bufandas nunca más.

Ojalá estuvieras tú aquí ahora, estoy tirada en cualquier calle de Madrid esperando que la casualidad o el destino que un día nos unió nos cruce de nuevo en su camino

..pero llueve y no apareces..




El tren llegará en apenas unas horas y daría lo que fuera por saber si dejé mi perfume en tu almohada cuando me marché. Al menos mi corazón, si sé con seguridad que lo dejé contigo.

 y ojalá lo veas, y ojalá lo arropes, y ojalá me lo devuelvas en forma de "vuelve".
 

que llegan días de lluvia y deberías saber que es un friolero. Tápalo bien, Primavera, tápalo bien. Y háblale bajito o escríbele suave (que solo así sabe dormir.) Me dijo que lo dejase allí, en tu espalda. Me dijo algo de tu pelo, de tu piel, algo de que quería besarte en la nuca cada vez que te viera temblar.

Indigenous Resistance has just launched a new full length 12-track cd IR25 Dubversive. This album has tracks "Ivere...The Land," "Luana," and "Sacred Power Dr Das Ragga Mix" all featuring indigenous performers from the South Pacific, most notably from the Solomon Islands.

The roots reggae track "Luana" is sung totally in an indigenous language from the Solomon's and features singers Tohununo and Dublikkle One in a song dedicated to all children whose rights are being disrespected. 

"Ivere..the land" is about environmental devastation and is a collaboration between a US-based singer of black, indigenous and European ancestry, ChristianeD  and Olovotu, an indigenous composer and musician from the south pacific. Ace producer Soy Sos takes indigenous  instruments and beats recorded by Olovotu and adds his own personal touch to them to create a swirling dance floor groove that mixes chants with Christiane D mezmerising lyrics and vocal styling. The track "Sacred Power Dr Das Ragga Mix" features vocals from Solomon Islands performer Tohununo alongside traditional singing from indigenous people in Canada within a reggae ragga riddim created by the founder and bassist of Asian Dub Foundation, Dr Das. "This Land Is Not For Sale..." is about Atenco, a classic land-rights struggle. For some time, IR had been aware of the siege of Atenco and had been following the news through its direct and underground channels. When Asian Dub Foundation contacted us about working on a collaboration around this issue, it made perfect sense to us. Land rights are the center of many indigenous struggles and IR has done tracks & grafitti projects related to this matter. With tracks on recent IR releases, we have hoped to illuminate the independence movement in West Papua, the The Free West Papua Movement (OPM), the plight of the Krikati people of Brasil, or the Minga Indigenia of Colombia. This new collaboration was created through the internet with musical mixes, speech fragments, and ideas flying back and forward in the digital domain. IR's network of dubversive members working in shadows across the Americas from Peru to Colombia, made their contributions by editing, transcribing, translating and recordings. These were relayed via the net to ADF in the UK. 

This is the 25th release on the IR label which over the last 6 years has done numerous collaborations with indigenous performers from the South Pacific doing collaborations solely through the internet which linked musicians like ADF and Adrian Sherwood with performers in the South Pacific. In fact the first 7-inch vinyl, IR2, released by IR was a track for the Free West Papua movement.

I.R. is a new music label launched in 2003that explores the twin themes of Indigenous Resistance/Indigenous Reality. Issues and examples of indigenous resistance and Indigenous reality that normally dont receive attention will be highlighted through our releases.
I.R also refers to homegrown insurrection and the fight against injustice everywhere.
An autonomous venture, I.R releases comes together with a minimum of resources but with a maximum of cooperation and care from those involved in the project; a family of loosely affilated folks who believe in the spirit and deed of resistance. Some of our conspirators include Underground Resistance , Dr Das ,Ramjac,Asian Dub Foundation,Deeder Zaman,D. WattsRiot Adrian Sherwood,Delroy "Fatta" Pottinger, MichaelFranti ,Mapu,Assatta Shakur,John Trudell,Dubdem Soundsytem,

I.R is intimately connected to the TFTT freedub project. Hence there will be opportunities to recive vinyl, books, posters free of charge.
