Deemed Psychotic hails back to the days of arena rock - big sounds, big songs. I work with my brother, KarrArikh Tor from Infinisynth to create Deemed Psychotic. Silly Mind Games is from our second release, 2nd Take.

The Lizard King is the opening song on my solo release, VOX. I layered four vocal lines in the chorus to add a rich tone to match my key lines. And yes, that lead is from a keyboard, not a guitar.

In the Land of Death and Joy is one of those songs for me. I keep doing new versions. 21st Century definitely ranks as my favorite mix. My brother, KarrArikh Tor from Infinisynth added guitars and bass to my keys. He actually inspired the First Nation vocals in me.

Epik is the 5th song on my release, VOX. It's a terribly sad, depressing song about war. The lyrics were structured to rhyme at the end of every verse. Loads of vocal tracks on this to get the feel I wanted.

KyPoetry - Interview…I originally did this piece for my show in the Manchester area. I was pleased to be asked as a guest performer, but noted that no one knew how to pronounce my name. Rather than be angry, I decided to have fun with it. This recording, which was done before I began performing the piece live, doesn't do justice to my live version. I really get into the two character flip back and forth, and generally am much more animated than this version.

KyPoetry - Interview

Mindfire is my cover of an old Milwaukee's Black Orchid song. I knew the band, in fact I worked as live engineer for some of their shows. I also knew they improvised everything, so I had a problem. I wanted to do the song cause of the great rhythm, but I had to try to write something in the way of lyrics for myself. Ended up doing this version and passed it by one of the members of the original band, who approved it (although he said he really didn't think of it as a cover since my lyrics dramatically changed the feel of the song). Since MBO was an industrial band, I chose to use a distorted vocal effect - which I really got  into to.

Kylyra - Mindfire

In the Land of Death and Joy, from my release Ishtar's Ascent, is the original version of this song. Ishtar's Ascent is a concept album, based on stories in the Necronomicon. In my version, Ishtar is walking on the beach when a music box appears. She winds the key, and a melody plays, calling her down to hell. Ishtar descends into hell, giving up her items of power while being tormented by her sister. Ishtar's sister imprisons her for thousands of years, making her sleep and relive life after life as a human. In the depths of her despair, Ishtar is reminded of who she is - which is all this powerful goddess needs to defeat her evil sister and release herself from hell.

It's a very dark release, peppered with spoken word interludes to tie the story together between songs. Quite a mix musically, too. Darkwave, classical, and dance are intertwined together in the album.

In this song, you'll hear several things. First is a wave sample my brother and I recorded live at the edge of Lake Superior in the US. The music box sample is something I created on my keys, as is the picked guitar accompaniment. At then end of the song, you'll hear a door slam. Ishtar has left the beach and is on her way down to hell.

Infinigroove is the second song on Spiral Default 2013 by Infinisynth. Laced with heavy guitar work suspended on an ELP flavored synth, Infinigroove shows off the superb ability of Infinisynth to merge guitar and keyboard lines into one outstanding track.

There Are No More Tickets To The Funeral (Rough Demo)

This is the opening track for the new Infinisynth album, Spiral Default 2013. It was the eighth song to be written and recorded. This song was the opening to Germania Saga. It was played with orchestral sounds without vocals or drums and played through the parts only once with some parted played out longer than the new version. I had liked the melodies and spent weeks trying to arrange them for bass and guitar (which were absent in the Germania Saga version). I had intended for it to be the opener of the new release, and to be an instrumental. But as soon as I started getting the side guitars, bass, and drums in I began to hear words. I recorded something as soon as I had finished writing it. Next days I awoke with changes, and added them. This is the final full song but not necessarily the final mix.
