To celebrate the release of director Quentin Tarantino's 8th film, Hateful Eight, Rza presents “Hands of God," the commemorative version.    This special song serves as a remix to Younge’s Hands of God, the original to be released on Younge’s upcoming Something About April II, January 21.   Hands of God synthesizes the audiovisual style of the legendary Ennio Morricone (Hateful Eight composer) with the rugged and raw musical aesthetics created by Wu tang founder Rza. Alongside the abbot, two of Younge’s favorite vocalist are also featured: Karolina and Laetitia Sadier (Stereolab).    

On behalf of Rza and Linear labs, we would like to congratulate Quentin on another extraordinary motion picture creation.Please enjoy this remix and support Hateful 8, in theaters.  Shot on 70 mm film, the special roadshow engagement pays homage to the grand and long forgotten exhibitions of yesteryear.

Steady Holiday is Dre Babinski. Until now you could find her playing in bands around LA, opening for big tent stuff like Fitz and the Tantrums and Fun dot, and making a record with some friends from Dr. Dog. She enjoyed the sidewoman life, but longed for an outlet of her own, writing and recording in secret, developing a body of work about hidden desire itself. Under the Influence is her coming out party, featuring Josh Adams (Jenny Lewis) and produced by Gus Seyffert (The Black Keys, Beck), set for release June 24th on Infinite Best (Mr Twin Sister, Ava Luna). First single “Your Version of Me” was released to immediate praise, garnering 200,000+ streams, and caught the attention of Coachella/Goldenvoice founder Paul Tollett, who added the band to Coachella 2016. Steady Holiday will play a residency at the Satellite in LA every Monday in June, come hang.

“Hurt Me (feat. GABI)” is the new single from NYC collective House of Feelings. With production from Dale Eisinger of Yvette, the track contrasts industrial drums with a driving sax sample courtesy band leader Matty, then kicks into gear with a bassline schooled in Detroit. Featured vocalist GABI straight up dares the listener to "hurt me... you ain't gonna hurt me", turning every nightclub predator's cowardice back on themselves, as the track builds and her power grows. 

The track is taken from a forthcoming EP, to be released by Infinite Best (Mr Twin Sister, Ava Luna) in August 2017.

"I did one last disco song"

This track was written with a specific instrument in mind: the unmistakable voice of Shamir Bailey, who recently traded glimmering disco-pop ballads for a new brand of soul-searching lo-fi. A duet with House of Feelings bandleader Matty Fasano, who contributed sax on Shamir’s 2015 debut Ratchet, the song appears to bookend a certain phase of Shamir’s musical life (the above quote was tweeted by Shamir when we announced the track's existence). That bittersweet, maybe-an-ending, maybe-a-beginning feeling is manifest in the series of repeated, unanswered questions that make up the lyrics. "Who's gonna change the motion / when you're standing right by my side?"

It takes time. We came to New York years ago, more time than a mind can hold. Too young to know better. Too drunk to tune our guitars. But you don’t come for the same reasons you stay. It takes time to sort real life out from your wishes. You can’t know why you ran away until you go. “Disco Lights” is a love letter to New York and its sounds, music made by misfits under the skyline, the city always visible in the distance like a West End Records sleeve. Their city is not our city, but their hearts beat like our heart. They sang about this place over the distance, and now we live there.
