Born in Denmark and the Deep South more than a decade apart, this duo was destined to merge from the start. Joseph Downing, singer/songwriter/guitarist, connected late in 2017 in Nashville with producer Zach Scott, aka ingrvm, to form Parlor. The results have been described as intoxicating music that makes you want more. What happens is preternatural with Parlor. The sound is clean and well-constructed but with a powerful sensibility that pulls you in. Downing’s vocals offer the tonal tilts just right for Scott’s electronica influence, while jazz-inspired guitar riffs trigger a smile and a sway. It’s pop with a fusion of rock, jazz, a bit of trap and just about any mood for any moment. Parlor. Music that’s mellow, yet moving.
