Here is the story of a little girl learning to play the violin. She struggles to play, and through her struggle she creates a new way of practicing: she imagines bringing her stuffed animal to life; a simple, Orange Elephant. He awakens, sits at a tiny piano (which is the same size as him now) and, for a moment,  plays a tune for her. She is taken by a melody, and plays it, completely enraptured by the intensity and simpleness of the piece.

Special thanks to my family who supported me to get to this point. This is an old one I made in 2007-2008 finally finished (I seem to have a large archive of old stuff to finish out). I hope you enjoy the song!

Cure | ALIEN STAGE (String Special Soundtrack)

Le Conservatoire de Paris est le point de départ de notre aventure. Créée en 1795, l’institution avait pour ambition de réunir en un seul lieu les compositeurs et leurs interprètes, dans le but de promouvoir la musique française. Quatre de ses représentants sont mis à l’honneur dans le présent enregistrement : d’une part, Gabriel Fauré et Claude Debussy, fers de lance de la mélodie française et de la musique impressionniste ; d’autre part, Lili Boulanger, prodige du piano, compositrice, première femme à avoir reçu le Prix de Rome en composition (1913), et Thierry Escaich, compositeur contemporain, organiste, improvisateur et pédagogue, récompensé quatre fois comme « Compositeur de l’année » aux Victoires de la musique classique.
Du statut d’élève à celui d’enseignant, les quatre compositeurs ont entretenu des liens étroits avec le Conservatoire de Paris, marquant l’histoire de cette institution. Gabriel Fauré en fut le directeur de 1905 à 1920, quinze années au cours desquelles il entreprit une restructuration profonde des enseignements. Claude Debussy y fit également ses classes, avant d’intégrer le Conseil supérieur de l’enseignement du Conservatoire, alors toujours sous la direction de Fauré. En 1909, après avoir pris des leçons de piano auprès de ce dernier, Lili Boulanger est admise au Conservatoire où elle étudie pendant trois ans au sein de la classe de composition de Paul Vidal. Marchant dans les pas de ses prédécesseurs, Thierry Escaich est lui aussi profondément lié à l’établissement : d’abord en tant qu’élève, puis comme professeur d’écriture, de composition et d’improvisation à l’orgue depuis 1992.

The Paris Conservatoire (Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris) offers specialised tuition and professional training at the highest level in music, dance, and sound technologies. The school’s 1300 students coming from over 40 countries are taught by 400 outstanding artists from around the world. Fully engaged on the national and international stage, the Conservatoire showcases some 300 musical and choreographic performances each year, and its graduates engage in rich and varied careers in all areas of the musical and choreographic world. 
Setting up its own record label Initiale, the Paris Conservatoire allows a large audience to discover first recordings by some of its most promising students. The catalogue will include all repertoires, from ancient to contemporary music and jazz.
