Four our 13th podcast, we are super happy to host Brooklyn-based artist, Jacob Long aka Earthen Sea! 
His droney ambient, glacial dub-techno and beat tape inspired glitchy downtempo sounds had already gained the likes of labels such as Other People, Silent Season, Kranky or more recently Huinali Recordings & Mysteries of the Deep.  The selector DJ aims to tie together a number of different tangents of musical interest into a coherent audio journey. He offered us a deep journey into Ambient, Dub & percussive elements. Morphing Territories' (@morphingterritories) music explores the delicate balance between power and emotion. Its timeless approach to techno is based on the hypnotic, unpredictable atmospheres of modular synthesis and field recording. Inspired by the nature of his native Switzerland, as well as the music of pioneers like Mike Parker, Morphing Territories is on a boundless quest to perfect the beat. Through tireless improvisation and introverted self-discovery, his finely-sculpted sound constructs push the boundaries of both complexity and simplicity. As an extension of his musical vision, Morphing Territories’ self-titled label presents a full range of psychedelic dancefloor experiences. His own releases there, as well as for labels like KCZ (@benkaczor) and Oslated (@oslated), channel spontaneity and even chaos into purist, deeply-affecting techno trips. The vibe he creates in the studio is developed further by his journeying DJ or live sets, as well as by his mix series Sense (@esnes). Altogether, the distinct avenues create a complete sound world, where the relentless beat of a drum, the trails of driving rhythms and the warmth of soaring pads combine into a potent formula.

Life moves at such a fast pace that it seems to pass us by before we can really enjoy it. However, it doesn’t have to be this way.

VLB52 is an evolution from Javier Marimon's sound, adapting to a new environment, rain, wet socks, whirling scapes and specially to the sensorial entropy around that our brains are constantly trying to freeze to avoid heavy computations. That is rather speeding up life, surprisingly. 

Javi tells us: “In this live recording, on Rytm, Octatrack and FXs exploring different weather's and now usual wild patterns coming from the forest, there is an intense sound walk around our area hoping you get a bit of that hectic calm life we are also trying to decode”. 

Let’s rebel against a frenetic lifestyle and slow down to enjoy life.

Emanuele Pertoldi was born in a small village in the North East of Italy. Since he was a child he had a strong passion for music and it became stronger and stronger. He took a degree in Modern Music - Music Production in Bologna.
Sound research, creativity and passion are the keys of his tracks.
In 2013 he started a new alias, S/EXP (Shaded Explorer), with the aim to represent himself in a more intimate way. The description of the project says: "S/EXP lives in a place where the music is hidden behind a dense fog and dreams are suffocated by an unpromising reality. This stimulates him to continue his research of magical places around the world, being them ethereal landscapes, deep cenotes or blue seas. In those places he discovered and created new sounds, melodies and rhythms that melted together create soundscapes for escape."The first release is an album on Eclipsemusic that was also played live by him (just with hardware) at Club To Club in Turin, one of the most representative festivals in Italy. Following this concept in 2014 he founded his own intimate imprint Shaded Explorations.
Now he's one of the great mask of ambient music and deep sounds, especially after the release on Silent Season and Kabalion Records.

Italian DJ and electronic music producer born in 1987 in Sardinia. Experimentation and sound research have always been key points of growth in music and art for Claudio PRC. His concept of techno turns into deep and atmospheric sounds, a mental and spiritual journey into the depths of music. Claudio is co-founder of The Gods Planet project and related TGP label with Ness and he released mainly his music in labels such as Prologue, Semantica Records and Outis Music.

Astral Industries were set to throw a similar weekend of music at Cafe OTO in London recently, but had to cancel due to the coronavirus situation. We’ll be asking for a small donation of anything you can spare, to be split between Astral Industries (to help recoup the thousands lost on the cancellation), the artists involved and the South London Refugee Association, who provide expert advice, specialist services and effective support (made even harder given the current situation) to refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants in South London.
