Mid November will see Berlin based producer and Fuse resident Ben Rau inaugurate his new imprint Inkal Music with the ‘Don’t You Know’ EP.

Berlin born and bred producer Ben Rau has been steadily carving out his own brand of stripped-back and groove fuelled house music over the past few years, forming his style both as a producer and resident DJ for Enzo Siragusa‘s Fuse parties , before later going on to release material with the Fuse London label amongst others such as JusGrooveIt and Body Parts. Here though we see Rau take strides in his own direction with the launch of his brand new imprint Inkal Music, a vinyl only imprint predominantly focusing on material from the label owner himself.

Taking the lead on the package is title-track ‘Don’t You Know’ which sees Rau deliver a hypnotic slice of dubbed out house fuelled by heavily swung percussion, rumbling subs, snaking dub swells and an enchanting vocal hook uttering the track’s title.

On the flip Ben offers ‘Metatrack’ and takes a more robust approach bringing a sturdy rhythmic foundation to the forefront whilst wandering acid licks, spellbinding atmospherics and vocal shots ebb and flow throughout the compositions eight minutes.

Ben Rau serves up the third release on his own label Inkal in October featuring two new original tracks by the rising star.
Berlin born Ben Rau is building on the huge success of the first two Inkal releases with two original tracks of his glitched out groove laden signature house sound. Rau has been steadily building his own brand throughout 2017 on his label Inkal, with each release on multiple represses the label is fast becoming synonymous with the type of house music that works equally for the underground vinyl heads and on the big festival stages.
The A-side Ad Astra is a rolling peak time number that marries a ravey lead stab with his trademark swinging hats and glitched out filter modulations over a thumping groove. The drop recalls 90’s drum and bass influences and soothing pads take the track into deeper territory. The drums are loose and jostle for attention as the ducking and diving lead synth bring real movement up top. One for the more tasteful sets out there.
Up next is Do Your Thing built around a rolling percussive tech-house groove and rumbling sub bass line, Ben brings in 303 licks and a female vox that urges you to “do your thing “ throughout the track. This roller makes a fine contrast to the swinging grooves of the A-side, dense atmosphere and deep chords compliment the other elements to form an infectious head nodding journey throughout the tracks 8 minute duration.
Once again Rau shows what an essential house producer he has become.

Seth Troxler’s club focussed label, Play It Say It, welcomes a master of stripped back and dubbed out tech grooves in the form of Seb Zito, while Fuse boss Enzo Siragusa steps up to remix. 

A core part of the world-renowned Fuse party crew, Zito's distilled productions are perfectly functional, boasting the sorts of subtle charms that make them truly irresistible to legions of dancers. His warm sound has landed on the Fuse and Infuse labels as well as Rawax and Kaoz Theory. He runs his own Seven Dials label and is as revered for his resident sets in London and Ibiza as he is his studio sounds.

The excellent ‘On It’ opens things up with tightly coiled drums, adorned with bumping kicks that immediately get you moving. A soul infused vocal brings plenty of cool to the track whilst dreamy pads add warmth and depth. A dub is also included in the package for those darker, late night sets. Both versions are sure to become club mainstays. 

Remixing is Enzo Siragusa, the man behind the internationally renowned Fuse brand and a driving force in the contemporary house and techno scene. He DJs around the world, hosts parties across Europe and is known for digging deep. His version is more zoned out thanks to the swirling pads, with the orignal's vocal coming at you in a dreamlike fashion, as the knotted bass hammers home the groove. 

This is an essential release that is sure to go on to big things this summer.
