Section 63 - Corrosive

After releasing a single on Insomnius Music in 2023, https://soundcloud.com/section-63 now returns with his first 4-track EP, ‘Corrosive,’ on the label. The producer stays true to his distinctive sound, delivering technoid-inspired drum & bass that is pushing forward with full force: intense, dark, and minimalist.
 
Section 63's futuristic, dark style has its roots in the breakbeat hardcore scene of the early '90s, heavily influenced by London’s pirate radio stations. As a co-founder of The Sect, he played a key role in shaping the techno-influenced drum & bass sound that dominated the 2000s. Today, the producer and DJ continues his musical journey as a solo artist, having established himself as a reliable creator of multi-layered, high-energy tracks, with releases on labels like Mute:8, Subtrakt, and VIA. With ‘Corrosive,’ he delivers a bold statement, perfectly capturing his vision of techstep.
 
The EP opens with ‘Obey,’ a driving track that generates an energetic vibe through relentless percussion and an intense atmosphere. The track transports listeners to a dystopian future where machines and humanity collide. ‘Synthetic’ follows with a minimalist, mechanical sound, crafted from distorted cymbals and synthetic elements, conjuring a cold, futuristic landscape reminiscent of a steel-built, high-tech metropolis. In ‘Corrosive,’ tension builds with an acid line and a psychedelic pattern, pulling the audience into a euphoric spiral–a journey of transformation and renewal. The final track, ‘Light Work,’ delivers a haunting, cinematic mood with eerie sound design and a driving bassline, creating a dark, cinematic atmosphere between hope and decay.
 
The EP immerses listeners in a futuristic sonic realm, where light and darkness seamlessly intertwine.

Podcast 541 – Bad Syntax & Dialective

Stage B by Paperclip, released on Paperfunk Recordings, marks a new chapter in Pavel's personal narrative. Whereas Stage A saw him delve deep into the realms of his inner world, Stage B finds Pavel decisively moving forward, reshaping his internal landscape anew.

This music serves as an auditory portrait of transformation and inner upgrade. The musician reevaluates familiar reference points and discovers previously unknown aspects of himself, expressed through fresh, sometimes unexpected musical forms. Like pages from a diary, each melody narrates stories from Pavel’s life, sharing with listeners his journey toward balance and harmony—capturing that pivotal moment when old structures cease to serve and new ones begin to emerge.

Stage B resonates as a diary of personal evolution, with each track symbolizing a small step towards a renewed self. Here, there's no fracture or pain, only the strength of acceptance and clarity of vision. Pavel Paperclip invites us to witness his journey, allowing the music to communicate when words run out and sincere expression begins.

The Insomnius EP by Dr Woe is his first release on a label and the first EP on Insomnius Music. The Insomnius EP starts with „The Tunneltune“ includes straight bassline and a dark atmosphere.The second Track „The Insomnius“ comes with punchy drums, energetic lead sounds and leaves your mind with a mystic touch. 
„Stone Cold“ is a more broken beat one with percussive bassline. 
An upfront roller with space to get breath and calm down that’s „Beautiful Anger“.The bouncing bassline and rolling drums are forming a warm mood. 
Inspired by a trip to London’s „Hackney Wick“, gives the last Track on the Insomnius EP it’s name. The dreamy atmosphere complement the up and down stepping drums in a balance. All in all Dr Woe have produced a multi-faceted going to the roots EP which brings you on a journey through the insomnius nights.

Insomnius Music is a Hamburg-based music label, founded by Violet Core and Dr Woe in 2016.
