Last Saturday marked the one-year anniversary of the release of the first album by the Canadian label Montreal Dances Across Borders. This platform was born with the intention of collaborating directly with Solidarity Across Borders, an organisation that helps and integrates migrants. All the profits from sales go to this association, therefore, the vocation of this project is twofold, as in addition to helping Montreal Dances Across Borders financially, it also aims to promote the artists of this city and show that there is a quality and diverse music scene.

In this second release, the label has worked with another 10 artists from Montreal, and as with the previous album, each artist has had total freedom to create a piece in accordance with their musical line, and not with a homogeneous result in mind. We are therefore faced with a release that is impossible to define in one or a few words.

Montreal Dances Across Borders Vol.2 mixes different styles. HRT opts for accelerated electro-techno, Le Service Humain's track can be categorised as industrial and AN_NA's as a hypnotic vocal techno delight. Pulsum adopts an acid character, s.talbot goes for Detroit influences, Human Jungle and K-10 for old-school electro. Inside Blur's punchy techno pairs perfectly with the electronica of Remote Acces and the melodic techno beauty of DBY.

HЇCICK got acquainted with the electronic scene at the age of 15, from that moment he decided to connect his life with music, at the age of 17 he became a DJ and began to write his own works. The immediate plans are to move from Johannesburg to Berlin, where electronic music culture and nightlife flourishes.

The concept for Schacke’s, Apocalyptic Decadence was thought out during the dark days of the first lockdown in 2020, it is essentially about the desire for hedonism and excess being amplified when faced with apocalyptic omens and the annihilation of the familiar. 

When faced with destruction, the psyche approaches a duality, it can either swallow the pill of bitter realism or withdraw and escape into the imaginal, constructing a world of hedonism and pleasure, the paradox of the latter, which the album explores, is that this approach only accelerates the process of impending doom and the delusion that through the pursuit of eschatological pleasure, the world might be orgasmically reborn. 

Apocalyptic Decadence sees Schacke exploring the full spectrum of his musical discography, taking inspiration from the industrial, dark and rough sounds from his early days, combining it with the hyper-sensuality of his later works. The sound is twisted, psychological, sex-fixated and intoxicating. 

The album can be considered the 3rd part in his “Pleasuredome Series”, following his prior two releases on Instruments Of Discipline: ‘Welcome To The Pleasuredome’ & ‘Artificial Intercourse’.

The Italian label Frenesia (@frenesiarecords) has just released its fourth release, which is its third Various Artists on tape, entitled Choices For Instability, including six songs by artists such as Magnum Opus, Zumal (@zumalmusic) (founder of the label) and the song which we premiere today. Summoning is the result of the collaboration between Kay Mascara and Opioid Slot Machine (@opioidslotmachine). 

Opioid Slot Machine is also the founder of the Greek label OSM Tapes (@osmtapes), with which he has published releases by artists such as Unhuman & Petra Flurr, Alpha Sect, C​́​yan ID and Penelope's Fiance, among others.

In Summoning we find a strong rhythm-centered techno track heavily influenced by old rhythmic noise music, attacking the listener with industrial sounds and noise injections.
