'One Of The Receivers’ is an 8-track adaptation of the text, ‘Notes From A Pandemic’, released by August Skipper in 2020, a collection of poetry and abstract musings on the nature of shared delusion and collective psychosis in the face of extraordinary historical events. The music takes the form of heavy, cinematic drones, interspersed with moments of explosive sound design, a shifting base upon which a narrative unfolds that is at once dream-like, bizarre, foreboding and intimate.

In October of 2020 August Skipper released his text “Notes From A Pandemic” in book format. With text sleekly inlaid on a cloth bound cover, black on black, the materiality of the book contextualizes itself within the historically tense environment it came to fruition within. Hand numbered and signed, a limited edition of 200 copies, the gesture of intimacy between writer and reader is reflective. Skipper advertised the book as a reflection on “the psychic implosion resulting from the initial European quarantine”. Two years past the global phenomena that was, and for some still is, COVID-19 Skipper's negotiation of angst, vulnerability, and confusion was a prescient illustration of what would come to be a particularly turbulent world event.

November 12, 2023 sees the release of “One Of The Receivers”, a re-examination of Skipper’s text within an aural framework. Not simply a spoken word recanting of the text, Skipper uses “One Of The Receivers” as a new setting for dramaturgical collaboration and tonal placement of his writings. Skipper enlists fellow artists Cunce, Angelo Harmsworth, Luna Vassarotti, Samuel Savenberg, Wan, and Ireen Amnes to engender the uneasy surreality that is the post-pandemic zeitgeist into hallucinatory auditory landscapes. Skipper’s voice floats with dramatic affect over his collaborators’ sonic palettes, stylistically challenging his utility as both narrator and sound source in the environments that “One Of The Receivers” inhabits.

Skipper’s journal of uncertainty resonates in a new capacity from its initial inception both in time and media format. Curiously, the recycled investigation within his musings give pause for reflection that, in fact, we are perhaps in no further illuminated a space. Sitting amidst an interstitial contemporary reality of dread, boredom, and confusion we collectively yearn for a new kind of catharsis, one that seems, as yet, beyond our immediate grasp.

Nakamo’s hypnotic sound effortlessly navigates the realms of driving techno, melodic textures, and nostalgic grooves, all while infusing them with a glitchy, futuristic twist.

Nakamo started on her DJ journey in the North London party scene, crafting podcasts during the lockdown for techno collectives based in London.

Since then, this emerging talent has quickly made a strong name for herself, with performances at well-respected venues in the capital, including FOLD, Fabric, Corsica Studios as well as making her European debut at the prestigious Ved Siden Af in Copenhagen last year.

In 2021, Nakamo immersed herself in production and recently released her debut collaborative EP with Ctrltraxx on Leisure World.

Robert Sipos, born 1974, first met techno at the end of the 90s; initially visited clubs, parties, absorbed the music and listened. Almost became a second home to the 1999 opening Supersonic Polytechnic, and related techno events. Those important and noteworthy for his professional life were DJ Grega, who unwittingly pointed the way towards techno, and Mixer Smith, who gave the first major technical equipment. Noisesculptor is unbroken since its inception, representative of this line which is not exactly popular: techno primarily within industrial and dark line moving - doggedly trying to stay underground, as far as possible these days... In addition to mixing the music, editing really is what fascinated him, looking and researching new sound. His music is both modern and ancient: from the era when music was born instinct, sounds, feelings...

Several publishers discussed - and discuss today. In 2011, Robert appeared on Mixer Smith's tel joint debut album, titled "General Effect", which is now the well-known not only in Europe but also in many countries of the world (Japan, USA), and appeared on the popular www.audioexit.com label. Subsequently began to draw attention to it in the domestic and international trade: the requests were mixes, radio shows. His first solo album (Structures) marked with the names of Exigent (Perlei Imre) was released on Paradise Gate Records. On the European level, he is well known as a contributor / radio of the Art Style: Techno - Underground Techno magazine. His work has been featured on various compilation discs, and well-known DJs and producers like to use them for their mixes.
The tracks in the mix are all my own. Some of them are already published by different publishers, some are unpublished.

Drugim domem stało się dla niego nowo otwarte Supersonic Polytechnic w 1999 roku i wydarzenia techno odbywające się tam. Ważnymi i godnymi uwagi w jego życiu zawodowym byli DJ Grega, który nieświadomie wskazał drogę w stronę techno, oraz Mixer Smith, który dał mu pierwszy poważny sprzęt techniczny. Noisesculptor jest nieprzerwany od początku swego istnienia, reprezentując mniej popularny kierunek: techno głównie w obrębie industrialu i poruszającej się ciemnej linii - obecnie uparcie starając się pozostać w podziemiu, o ile to możliwe... Oprócz miksowania muzyki, produkcowanie jej naprawdę to jest to, co go fascynowało, szukanie i badanie nowych brzmień. Jego muzyka jest zarówno nowoczesna, jak i starożytna: z epoki, w której narodziła się muzyka, instynkt, dźwięki, uczucia...
