初期Cabaret VoltaireやThrobbing Gristle、Suicideなども引き合いに出され、テクノやノーウェイヴはもちろん、〈Hyperdub〉のKode 9に「最初のダブステップ」とも語られた、 80年代初頭のポスト・パンク全盛期にESGと共に〈Factory〉と契約を果たしたNYアンダーグランドの代表格 Ike Yard (アイク・ヤード)。 Stuart Argabright、Kenny Compton (Bass / Vocal)、 Fred Szymanski (Synthesizers / Programming) 、 Michael Diekmann (Guitar)の4人(現在は3人)によって1979年に結成され、1981年に〈Les Disques Du Crépuscule〉からEP、82年に〈Factory〉からアルバム、僅か2枚のレコードを残し惜しくも解散。リーダーのStuartはRammellzee参加のDeath Comet Crew、Dominatrixとして活動。2006年に〈Carpark〉傘下のレア・ポスト・パンク発掘的レーベル〈Acute〉からリリースされた編集盤『1980-82 Collected 』によって再評価。2010年には再結成を果たし最新作『Nord』を発表。 2012年に〈Desire〉からデビュー作『A Second』が再発され、 未だ世代とシーンを超え多くの先鋭に多大な影響を与え続ける生ける伝説。

Restive Plaggona is the music project of the Corfu-based artist Dimitris Doukas –also producing under Matriarchy Roots, Leftina Osha and Plaggona-. After releasing a series of cassettes in different labels along 2016 and 2017 –including his own Several Minor Promises- “Leaving The Body” arrives as an electronic composition of beats and synthesizer bodies disguised as a sense of provocation and mystery. Each of the seven pieces offers more than a smattering of interesting textures separated by spans of great decline, but a master class of permutations in-between accompanying sounds, stretching rhythms and viscera-and-violence noises. Driven by a deeply expressive narrative, Restive Plaggona makes a strong statement about his post-industrial vision adding technoid inclinations in a delightful dystopian world.

Ike Yard recombine their music looking across decades of post punk, electronic, soundtracks and come out with some of their best yet and enough to last the next 20-30 years (in Ike Yard´s very own words). Originally founded in 1979 New York City, members Michael Diekmann (keyboard, guitar, vocals), Kenneth Compton (programming drums, synths arrangements, bass, guitar, vocals) and Stuart Argabright (programming drums, synths arrangements, distortion bass, keyboards, metal perc) reformed the band once in 2007 and again in 2010. Each time different and with new ambitions. This time ‘Sacred Machine’ EP is defined by detailed drum layers supported by multiple basses and keyboards, some off-timing beat patterns that turn in a second of synchrony into a straight four on the floor kick and first time vocal collaborations.

Composition wise ‘Sacred Machine’ EP is recorded as a ‘rehearsal’. As for Ike Yard songs would not be done so very many times in their existence, all threw in on each piece as they came into being. It sounds like a group that could have been doing records in Anthony Burgess and Stanley Kubrick´s ‘A Clockwork Orange’. ‘Night Klub’ revisits Ike Yard´s original ‘Night After Night’ from 1981 EP. ‘Sacred Machine’ might be familiar to those who caught Ike Yard dates in Europe between 2007-2014 as one of the extended jams prepared for the dark ambient shows. ‘Tear Drop’ night airport music with sweet vocals by Camella Lobo of Tropic Of Cancer is followed by ‘Spit’ that explores Ike Yard NCR style with jittery beats, clomping, stomping cross cut beats. ‘Slaves Of Janet’ featuring Erica Belle brings to mind scenes in an S&M parlour with unused lyrics from the Factory America LP recordings.

Picking up right where EP #1 left off, EP #2 kicks things off with a bang. First up is Catz ’N Dogz and Yotam Avni’s for ‘Blakkat’; a high pace burner ideally suited for dance floors from Panorama Bar to under the LED’s of Watergate and every club in-between.
The duo return with the ‘Bright Mix’ of ‘Afterglow’ for the second cut on EP 2 and aptly titled, it pushes an intense, glitter filled ride to it’s limits.
Embarking onto the B-side, ‘O.A.Peas’ from heavy hitter Eats Everything & Lord Leopard take a trip down memory lane with a heavily sample based feel good tune that will absolutely demolish dance floors worldwide.
Rounding out the EP is a final collaboration between Catz ’N Dogz and Reno Wurzbacher with ‘To Ma People’ and it’s by far the smoothest and most laid back tune of the bundle, but never does it let you rest as a mesmerizing groove and lush atmospherics tell a deep, complex tale of late nights and early mornings.

"The Empire Line present six cyclonic episodes for confined spaces on their debut album, 'Rave.'

Comprised of Posh Isolation's Christian Stadgaard (Damien Dubrovnik, Vanity Productions), Jonas Rönnberg (Varg), and with Isak Hansen (Iron Sight) on tantrums, the trio's marauding live shows have been translated into a slippery set of pummelling techno works, watermarked with florid noise.

'Rave' is a celebration of contemporary rave culture, focused on the everlasting and transcendent as the night slips out past the day. With living-for-the-weekend hedonism irretrievably converted into a manicured, violent cliché, building new worlds and forging new modes of intimacy takes an exceptional sincerity. Naming some of the crews closest to The Empire Line in the album's titles, their spaces are examples of just how rave culture persists as a transgressive stronghold in people's lives.

Ranging from k-hole anthems to jacking, close-range sessions, 'Rave' still bears the traces of the group's experimental background, ensuring the tension is kept up through the catharsis."
