Berlin's italo body beat project Nullstrahler makes sure to shred your ears, mind and boots as much as its muscular grooves. The Stalker EP shows the sound of the German capital from its darkest side but not without dancy vibes and moments of ecstasy. Together with producers, artists and dark minded people Notausgang, Pierre Berge-Cia and Disco Morato, who reinterpret the club hits, Nullstrahler wants to spice up your summer whether in dark warehouses or dazzling outdoor raves.

Up next on Glasgow's Sounds of Lava Lava is local producer Kieran Apter. He's the man at the helm of CB90 Dance Recordings, a label that's been home to the likes of Brain Dancing, Man Power and his own productions which touch on house, techno and acid. Now he brings a slice of the latter to SOLL with 'Begin Again', a hypnotic acid-driven cut carried along by raw, shuffling drum programming and a distorted vocal meditation, which is backed by a remix from another Scottish rising star, Liam Doc.

Introducing Krista Bourgeois, our latest addition to PRSPCT Recordings: The Future of Hardcore Industrial Techno. Originally from the United States, Krista Bourgeois has found her home in the gritty, pulsating heart of Berlin's underground. Her sound is not for the faint of heart; it's raw, abrasive, and unapologetic.

Armed with a modular synthesizer, Krista crafts soundscapes that degrade into dystopian textures, accompanied by relentless percussion and analog warmth. Her sonic journey is unconventional, blending mechanized industrial design, experimental noise, and breakcore elements into a unique hardcore-infused techno experience.

Be prepared for her debut release on PRSPCT Recordings featuring three relentless tracks:
"Creation Through Destruction" - A 147 BPM pounding whirlwind that takes you on a journey of tension and distortion.

IOD PREMIERE #034 // HYBRAL - THE QUEER TURN

Hybral's new EP "Affirmative Action" is a dystopian industrial techno masterpiece that shows evil in its most beautiful and intense form. Dark, cinematic and frightening sounds lead you on a ghost hunt of rhythmic darkness, drawn full of turning points and unforeseen, surreal events. The EP is the image of a total horror, a bizarre journey through eternal darkness, as if in a black hole that sucks in all light and the whereabouts of matter remain uncertain. You experience a reality in which the contents of your stomach are overturned by your internal organs and all existing laws are reversed. 

The mood of the track, "The Queer Turn", is reminiscent of cold and rough clefts in the mountains, towering rock formations in the shape of shark's teeth towards the gloomy sky. Chainsaw-like cries of rebellion and determined marching of queer communities echo in the valleys and shape the landscape for generations to come.

Back-to-back selections between Alex and Dimitris. Alex was running a fever so not sure how that affected the end result, hope you like it."

IOD PREMIERE #036 // VOLSENT- NEVER NOTHING NICE

Melbourne/Adelaide-based artist Lauren Abineri releases her debut album Everything That I’ve Stolen. 

FKA water bear, Lauren’s projects have often been experimental and electronic in nature, with a brand of sample-laden minimal techno and darkwave electronica that have seen her support the likes of My Disco, Molly Nilsson and recently closing out the Unsound Adelaide festival. Her music under her own name however takes a very different route, exploring a quieter drone-folk side that she even goes as far to self-term ‘emo-folk’: 

“Everything That I’ve Stolen is a collection of songs that I lovingly describe as being of the genre ‘emo-folk’ - a genre that is most definitely real and not made up. I think emo-folk is self-preservation and self-deprecation, sitting somewhere between domestic places and dream spaces, between emotional fullness and having no feelings at all. Between very specific stories and ones that are completely fabricated.” 

Recorded with Nick Huggins in Point Lonsdale over a cold few autumn days in 2018, the record features vocal collaborations with Georgia Harvey (Yffer) and Market, and was delicately mastered by fellow Adelaide artist Sione Teumohenga (Lonelyspeck). 

Lauren Abineri's debut album Everything That I’ve Stolen is out via Healthy Tapes (Stella Donnelly, Rainbow Chan, Dianas) on December 19th and features the singles Not Forming and Drinking Hill.
