After three years in the pipeline, it’s about time for the KATRAN full-time debut album: Darko Kolar of ONTAL dishes out an instant industrial techno classic, eleven tracks of no-nonsense hard-hitting assaults with four prolific guests bringing their very own sound to extend the musical range of “Above the Concrete“ in a most intriguing way. Expect no moments of rest, surrender to the force of banging repetitive power branded with a brave scrape-and-burn musical edge. With a new version of his 2019 FORMS OF HANDS compilation track “Mirror Reflection” Kolar dives straight into the driving dance floor material that he has been cutting his teeth on the half dozen KATRAN tracks released so far and takes it from there: Pristine sound design, various flavours of the almighty kick drum and traces of melodic ambience, floating above the industrial shrieks and screeches that litter the album. The four tracks that have been produced in collaboration promise stimulating diversion: “Isolation” with Spanish DJ/producer SURIT evolve around a slow, pronounced bass line and suggests some deceptive calm, former Ad Noiseam act FAUSTEN tear up the rhythmic structure of “Envenomation” and conjure up chaos, French veteran ELEKTROPLASMA contribute some hardcore flavour to “Disruption” and “Sudden Closure” features noise legend KK NULL with uncontrollable outbursts of industrial debris. Loop-based, repetitive industrial techno with an edge is a time-honoured and accustomed tradition that HANDS has been fostering since ORPHX’s 1999 classic “Vita Mediativa”, and “Above the Concrete” follows in those footsteps. Strong rhythmic energy to work up a sweat meet nuanced and layered sounds that elevate this album above the functional, above the concrete.

Los Angeles based Venaeform Records debuts their first release initiated by the label’s creator Spheric with his project Ixïan. Premiere: Angel Attack delivers his debut album Divine Practicalities on his label, House of Reptile. The Boston and London-based artist blends several sound palettes, sharing his most poignant body of work to date. The album includes two remixes by Univac and Blind Delon, respectively.

Tightening Tension follows suit. It's a mutation of broken techno with electro flavours over a malicious Moog bassline, featuring the vocals of French producer IV Horsemen, whose lyrics conjure a smokey, bone-chilling atmosphere between skittery drums.

@desert.drone is the audiovisuals Techno/Industrial/Noise project of the italian musician Mauro Uda, based in Berlin, co-founder of @autonoma.industriale . His approach to live music, developed during the years through the obsession for dramatic and dark sounds, leads to a quasi-nihilistic and distorted music structure, with noisy rhythms and rough bass line that walk in an anti-utopic vision of the fact.

He’s actively in the mainteinment and the development of the Industrial scene in Berlin, promoting events and artistic collaborations in a broad spectrum, with the aims of a coherent and unitary reworking of the path of individuals, towards the uniqueness of the contemporary industrial movement.

Composed by four tracks “Efisio Says No” is full of heavy atmospheres: as rust corrodes metals over time, social and human misfortunes affect our lives, scratching and indelibly sculpting us on our path.

Pain and a sense of injustice move in the maccabre rhythms of “Sindia”, where without light the earth crumbles at every step, making the journey heavy in a sad atmosphere that is clearly manifested in “Unsolecited Visions”, which is expressed in a sharp lament that abhors revenge and calls for justice.

Accelerationism, adaptability, awareness of the senses and increase of the Ego pave the way for “Charge and Discharge”, in a coherent sonic evolution that reaches its maximum with the affirmation of oneself as primordial power:

Desire is captured in its most instinctive and pre-rational aspect, reaching the maximum expression of the Ego with “Efisio Says No”.

The Ep will be released the 25.02.23 with a event in Berlin in collaboration with Autonoma Industriale.

Berlin based producer Blush Response returns to Megastructure_ for his first fulll length release since 2021‘s Reconstitution, NEUROSCAPE 9 tracks of absolutely screaming and energetic Post-Industrial techno / IDM for those looking for sounds on the fringes of reality. Driving, pulsating, organic alien grooves populate the dense landscape of sound and showcase the next evolution in Blush‘s sonic signature.

Blush Response - Foldspace Transition [Feat. Richard Devine] [Megastructure_]

Forming a full cycle, Polanski returns to the Instinct Series with a dance floor-ready yet an introspective selection of works. Each of the three tracks were built for an extended period of time, between 2022/23 in his London studio. The final product weaves-in a mixture of raw modular sound-bites coupled with pulsating rhythms. The extensive use of field recordings form heavy atmospheres that are often accompanied by his own voice, sound objects and underlying drones. On occasions the fluctuating sounds have outbursts of sonic tantrums, activating a cerebral response. A state where rhythms are not obliged to strictly follow the tracks and transients are bent without any rules.
