After three years in the pipeline, it’s about time for the KATRAN full-time debut album: Darko Kolar of ONTAL dishes out an instant industrial techno classic, eleven tracks of no-nonsense hard-hitting assaults with four prolific guests bringing their very own sound to extend the musical range of “Above the Concrete“ in a most intriguing way. Expect no moments of rest, surrender to the force of banging repetitive power branded with a brave scrape-and-burn musical edge. With a new version of his 2019 FORMS OF HANDS compilation track “Mirror Reflection” Kolar dives straight into the driving dance floor material that he has been cutting his teeth on the half dozen KATRAN tracks released so far and takes it from there: Pristine sound design, various flavours of the almighty kick drum and traces of melodic ambience, floating above the industrial shrieks and screeches that litter the album. The four tracks that have been produced in collaboration promise stimulating diversion: “Isolation” with Spanish DJ/producer SURIT evolve around a slow, pronounced bass line and suggests some deceptive calm, former Ad Noiseam act FAUSTEN tear up the rhythmic structure of “Envenomation” and conjure up chaos, French veteran ELEKTROPLASMA contribute some hardcore flavour to “Disruption” and “Sudden Closure” features noise legend KK NULL with uncontrollable outbursts of industrial debris. Loop-based, repetitive industrial techno with an edge is a time-honoured and accustomed tradition that HANDS has been fostering since ORPHX’s 1999 classic “Vita Mediativa”, and “Above the Concrete” follows in those footsteps. Strong rhythmic energy to work up a sweat meet nuanced and layered sounds that elevate this album above the functional, above the concrete.

Katran - Disruption (with Elektroplasma)

Forming a full cycle, Polanski returns to the Instinct Series with a dance floor-ready yet an introspective selection of works. Each of the three tracks were built for an extended period of time, between 2022/23 in his London studio. The final product weaves-in a mixture of raw modular sound-bites coupled with pulsating rhythms. The extensive use of field recordings form heavy atmospheres that are often accompanied by his own voice, sound objects and underlying drones. On occasions the fluctuating sounds have outbursts of sonic tantrums, activating a cerebral response. A state where rhythms are not obliged to strictly follow the tracks and transients are bent without any rules. Tokyo’s Risa Taniguchi returns to Chris Liebing’s CLR with the ‘Break It’ EP 29th August 2025. The two-tracker follows her previous outings on the label, 2024’s ‘Wakes From Coma’ and ‘So Loud’, which earned support from Dave Clarke, Kelly Lee Owens, and Luke Slater, and 2022’s ‘Acid Flesh’, in collaboration with Black Asteroid.

Title track ‘Break It’ sees Kneaded Pains, Second State, Mind Medizin, and core CLR artist Risa Taniguchi open with high-intensity built around pounding kicks and a searing synth stab. The tension is palpable as icy hats and bold low-end drive forward beneath evocative spoken vocals culminating in a dark, strobe-lit roller primed to lock in peak-time floors. There’s no respite with ‘Give Me Up’, a tense and relentless follow-up laced with razor-sharp percussion, unresolved loops, and a monstrous, rumbling bottom end. It’s precision-tooled Techno, designed to hit hard, both physically and mentally.

Founded by influential techno lynchpin Chris Liebing in 1999 and reemerging in 2021 after a five-year hiatus, Create Learn Repeat (CLR) has hosted a range of artists like Shlomi Aber, Dubfire, Flug, Bjarki, DJ Dextro and more while also focusing on developing newer acts in the scene such as The Southern, and Klint.

Born in deep rural Poland, Polanski's music draws inspiration from the organic sounds of nature conveyed in the form of musical language of our digital era. His style is known to be eclectic and indeed his DJ approach is sensitive to particular venues and club nights. The name derives from the Old East Slavic word поле, which means "field" or "plain". The Polans were a Slavic tribe who gave a foundation to forming Poland around 8th century.

Unique as a performer, he always takes his audience on a personal journey - a sonical walk in the forest so to speak. It is the emotional drive more than the musical genres themselves that seals the journey together. 
Constantly shifting his sound, Polanski has evolved over the last 20 years as a DJ. His ever-developing style and production techniques have given a new dimension to his sound. 

2013 saw the birth of 🇧​🇱​🇦​🇳​🇨​ - a forward-thinking electronic dance night, it redefines the format of clubbing by stripping down elements of a show, concentrating on situating the DJ on the dance floor. The music and the audience take control of the room.

Currently hosted at Electrowerkz, the night has created a perfect platform to showcase up-and-coming local and international talent, as well as Polanski himself, often road-testing his own music and experimenting with new DJing techniques.
