The concept for Schacke’s, Apocalyptic Decadence was thought out during the dark days of the first lockdown in 2020, it is essentially about the desire for hedonism and excess being amplified when faced with apocalyptic omens and the annihilation of the familiar.

When faced with destruction, the psyche approaches a duality, it can either swallow the pill of bitter realism or withdraw and escape into the imaginal, constructing a world of hedonism and pleasure, the paradox of the latter, which the album explores, is that this approach only accelerates the process of impending doom and the delusion that through the pursuit of eschatological pleasure, the world might be orgasmically reborn.

Apocalyptic Decadence sees Schacke exploring the full spectrum of his musical discography, taking inspiration from the industrial, dark and rough sounds from his early days, combining it with the hyper-sensuality of his later works. The sound is twisted, psychological, sex-fixated and intoxicating.

The album can be considered the 3rd part in his “Pleasuredome Series”, following his prior two releases on Instruments Of Discipline: ‘Welcome To The Pleasuredome’ & ‘Artificial Intercourse’.

Fierce and forlorn, Swarm Intelligence’s “The Shattered Self” delves into the complexities of human existence in an era dominated by technological advancements. In this thought-provoking exploration, the artist challenges listeners to confront the consequences of a near future where physical and mental augmentation are commonplace. In a world where limbs can be upgraded, where consciousness can be uploaded, where memories can be digitally archived and shared on social media, where our AI clones can liberate us from menial tasks... What remains of ourselves? Who is our self?

Swarm Intelligence draws influences from black metal, industrial-tinged dub, and post-rock, splicing these with his distinctive take on techno to devastating effect. "Dejected," the inaugural track, unleashes grinding walls of feedback against a relentless broken beat, its foreboding atmosphere heightened by a menacing low growl of distorted bass that permeates the unease. It's a disquieting overture that sets the stage for the tumultuous journey ahead.

The second track, “Eros” envelops the listener in a visceral soundscape, where haunting atmospheres intertwine with grinding feedback and pounding percussion. Initially tense, the track evolves into an unexpected and almost euphoric climax, adding an unforeseen emotional depth to the sonic narrative. Yet, beneath the surface, an undercurrent of tension remains—an ever-present reminder of the fragility of our self.

On the flip side, "Inciter" channels inner fury through a guttural chant punctuating a Birmingham-styled broken beat, marching forth with unyielding force.

Finally, "Portal" offers a moment of quiet introspection, as haunting pads echo a mournful refrain while micro recordings of whirring machinery are assembled into the percussion section. It serves as a poignant curtain-closer.

Through "The Shattered Self," Swarm Intelligence challenges listeners to reconsider their perceptions of identity, consciousness, and agency in an age where the machine and the human converge. It's a haunting and profound journey—one that invites introspection and contemplation long after the final reverb tails fade into silence.

PREMIERE: Swarm Intelligence - Portal

Ryuji Takeuchi's career goes back 20 years, with his first releases defining his style as a techno-oriented producer. However, his subsequent artistic development has evolved into a more raw, industrial-influenced sound, and today, we see his artistic persona as closely linked to this sub-genre that combines elements of both musical genres.

Ryuji Takeuchi joins the Blame Rec catalogue alongside other big names we associate directly with the label, such as Katran and Violet Poison. The Japanese artist is an ideal candidate to join the ranks of this Italian label, as both projects have many points in common, especially a musical perspective based on the solidity and oversaturated energy of techno-industrial.

Either/Neither is an EP with two original tracks and three covers. Either is extremely aggressive, fast and with a clear tendency towards distorted textures. Neither is also generated in a hostile environment, although somewhat slower, and with a syncopated rhythmic opening bars that vary sharply to the binary. Hypnoskull creates a version of Either, and Cervello Elettronico and Tomohiko Sagae remix Neither.

BISHOP is the first EP by the live techno duo Zona Interdunar. With tracks spanning from industrial techno to avant-garde pop, nothing stays stable for too long and is likely to suddenly shift into something new as the duo confidently draws sounds from their rich and unconventional palette.

The opener, "BIG SKY," is a slow, grinding song where haunting, mantra-like vocals are carried by a huge kick. The track develops into an addictively oppressive crescendo, with layers of strings and guitars driving up the tension until everything finally melts down into a dirty, sticky synth and bass unison. Starting dreamy with pads and a skinny beat, "GNOSIS" becomes increasingly disturbing, with jazzy lines from the trumpet and whispers leading into an all-out break. The song emerges as a grimy dubstep beat drenched in feedback before a choral arrangement of horns crashes it into a wall of sparkling synth. It then recovers for a final verse before folding over a simple, receding beat. In "PANIC ROOM," corrosive bass riffs cut through the rumble of a relentless four-to-the-floor beat. The drums take center stage when the bass is absent, supporting synths and vocal stabs. In the long break, a wet trumpet takes the listener out for a breath of fresh air before the kick and bass combo grabs hold again. In "BURN," a hard kick and ornate hi-hat patterns are glued together by straight riffing, with unsettling vocals luring the listener during brief moments of calm. The tempo is cut in half, and the song mutates into a groovy dub supporting a razor-sharp trumpet. After this detour, the track finally finds its resolution in a long, glorious coda of lush synth pads.

Unknown delivers his first EP called "Inferno", which is part of the limited tapes catalog of the Greek label OSM tapes. The release contains collaborations with Bad Faith Actor (half of Alpha & Necromante) and Dolgener (half of MDD) and also remixes of Exome and Opioid Slot Machine. The producer has reunited his most industrial/noisy tracks for this release.

Opioid Slot Machine has remixed “Slavery” showing us the ability he has to transform a techno track into a version more inspired by drone sounds.
