About the artist, 

Melbourne-based producer LUBU has been crafting beats for nearly a decade, but it wasn’t until 2022 that he fully honed in on his club-focused sound. His first SoundCloud release, BEENLOOKING, quickly gained traction, setting the stage for his journey into the underground scene. Since then, he’s been refining his style, blending influences from across the spectrum, and expanding his reach through proper distribution. Now, with a sharpened sound and a growing catalog, he’s looking to step behind the decks and bring his music to life on the dancefloor.

Originally cutting his teeth on J Dilla-style beats and recreating Tyler, The Creator instrumentals, LUBU’s production took a turn in 2019 when he was introduced to house and techno—majorly influenced by acts like X CLUB. That inspiration runs deep in his work today, with sounds reminiscent of Sewerslvt, Baugruppe90, and Mark Broom. With a new release dropping on Spotify on March 13 and a collab EP in the works, there’s plenty more to come.
