Madrid’s Analogical Force continues its run proudly to present ‘Welkin EP’, second in the catalogue and first from Niagara Falls, NY-based Reid Dunn (well known as WISP) under his misterious DWAALLICHT alias. Many -like us- have been looking forward long time for this stuff, now the wait is over.

Just when the 10th anniversary of the still acclaimed ‘NRTHNDR’ album on now-defunct Sublight label, and six years after ‘We Miss You’ and ‘The Shimmering Hour’ on the Rephlex camp, the Aphex Twin-approved producer is back exploring spectral acidish territories, intricate drum patterns with thick synths, nervous breaks and rhythms, nostalgic rising-falling melodies...waving this elements to his will. It seems that Reid has deemed the time right to do what he does best. A record so immune to contemporary styles and aesthetics are almost by definition timeless, and it's tempting to call ‘Welkin EP’ that.

Dwaallicht doesn’t hide his influences; AFX, Squarepusher and Mike Paradinas are obvious reference points, but add Tangerine Dream, Phuture 303 or Mr Fingers to the mix and you’ll get a sense of the scope of Reid’s personal vision. 

Braindancers: ‘Welkin EP’ will all remind you exactly why you loved this talented guy for so long and why hes one of the most uncompromising artists working in electronic music this days.

Following the wealth of techno, electro and jungle on DJ Guy's Structures & Rhythms '94-'99, Organic Analogue turn to cult champion MNLTH for a fulsome six-track EP.

Dave Monolith has been busy under a variety of aliases since first releasing his Volume 1 EP on Rephlex Records. He went on to drop the fantastic Welcome album on the Cornish institution before further quality electronic explorations on WeMe, CPU, not to mention the fig.03 and fig.04 EPs on his own Photodementia label.

MNLTH comes to Organic Analogue with a singular selection of tracks that completely encapsulate his sound in all its warmth and weirdness. This is unsettling electro done the British way, nodding to the electronica tradition but equally channeling a rave spirit throughout. In that sense, it speaks to the core principles of OA perfectly.

"111Pad" is a laid-back machine jam of dirty drums, bass and piano stabs, while "Q Express" raises the temperature with a surge of unnerving pads and heavy analogue drums. "Zirberterai" meanwhile takes shape as a darkside roller peppered with crusty, flitting vocal sampling.

"Fline" showcases all the deftness and subtlety in the MNLTH arsenal with a limber arrangement that pivots around pulsing square waves and delicately simmering beats. "Polynana" reaches skywards in a celebration of after-hours electro with an ambiguous mood that lies just beyond your comprehension. Finally "Meadow" rounds the EP off by evoking all the idealism of the quintessential outdoor rave in a cascade of kicks and piano chords.

Having originally surfaced as clips through an obscure YouTube account, the tracks on Laser80 were already garnering the attention of more switched on techno fans in niche corners of the internet. Now, with this official release on OA, the dynamic blend of techno futurism, rave energy and hi-tech soul gets the airing it deserves. +Very limited pressing+

Falling Leaves (Mono No Aware) is an electroacoustic/ambient composition completed over the winter of 2011-2012. It premiered at the Further Series Electroacoustic 2012 Concert in Vancouver. 

The piece begins with a crescendo of sound highlighted by two melodies looping out of sync with one another. A drifting sense of time slowing down is created as a sound collage of falling leaves is introduced. As the piece progresses, several high pitched tones slowly bleed through the mix, gradually enveloping everything, before it all fades away. 

The title “Falling Leaves (Mono No Aware)” refers to the Japanese term used to describe the awareness of impermanence, or the transience of things, and a gentle sadness at their passing.
