I recently went to an indie sleaze party that was one of the best parties I’ve been to in Santa Barbara, and I have now been fully 100% red-indie-sleaze-pilled, going down the rabbit hole of Santigold deep cuts, arguing over Franz Ferdinand’s later output, and sending love to shooting stars, Bag Raiders-style. 💊🌠💥🪩

This red-pilling culminated in me stating to a friend a realization I stumbled upon: that The Killers serve as a bridge between the The Strokes and Fall Out Boy…

…or, rather, that the Vegas theatrics and minor synths of their still-a-rock-album Hot Fuss served as a bridge from the Garage Rock Revival of the early 00’s into the Pop-Punk revival of the mid-00’s 🤯🌃🎸
