A soundtrack for an unfinished science fiction film made in the Fylde coast area some time ago. The music is a behind the scenes journey exploring the movie and the central character Phocus, each track an exposition into the duality of actions, on and off screen.
Warped and detached audio set to atomic shot on video era visuals represents the atmosphere to this low budget thriller’s vivid running commentary.
The album arrives on heavy weight vinyl with screen shot artwork from the film.

Monastery Rec. is honored to return with the second installment to it's Various Artists 'Vari-Tech' compilation series. Hosting a number of returning names from our previous 'FIRST MASS' [2020] compilation and the labels catalog, while simultaneously introducing a handful of new faces, 'SECOND COMING' delivers a range of different takes on a single concept, 'Glitch'. With no other constraints or major direction, each artist was given the freedom to contribute a track built on that theme alone, infusing each of their unique flavors. The results yielded a plethora of creatively different interpretations, some more abstract, while others - very on the nose. Through this compilation release, you will hear many literal glitch effects, lots of which are very electronic, like a device breaking, while others fall on the more 'organic' side, sounding more akin to that of a neon tadpole spawning ground...or something like that. We'll let you be the judge.

A special thank you to ALL the amazing artists who took the time to put in their hard work towards this release. Without them, this wouldn't have been possible. Please go show them all your support and love!

Our debut release from the mysterious Bogle House sees a story told through folk, horror, spoken word, modular synth and more – moving through portentous drones, organic soundscapes and tender moments, especially the closing piece 'I Am Buried Now and I Wish To Move On'.

From Bogle House: "The following explores the postmortem fate of a cunning woman who awakens to find her spirit sealed within the trunk of a great oak tree. Her body, in death now fused with the oak itself, has come to represent a fertility spirit and minor tutelary deity of the surrounding farmlands. Unwanted protector of the valley and Lady of the Harvest, she is now forced to stand watch over the fields of the very people who murdered her for nothing but the fallacy of being ‘a witch’.

Dedicated to those that suffered witch trial and spirit sealing ritual. May their souls be free to finally rest in peace."

"Roll On Blades" is a steep road between organic and industrial area, an animal being surrounded by noise, screens and too much information trying to find a way to keep the balance but without success.
edgy, raw and futuristic aesthetics are all part of the story here.

EE3 is a suggestive succession of strangely assembled pieces of micromondo miscellanea as small bizarre objects and surreal items right for Artetetra’s continuously metastasizing outré wunderkammer. 

A showcase of heterogeneous materials that cover an entire imaginal ecosystem going from the grotesque to the hazy, to the hypnagogic and absurd til the utterly whimsical; often resulting in non-linear audio experiences with humoristic and paradoxical outcomes. Abstract exotica, amphibian footwork, compositional audio-jokes, brutal counterpoint metal, aquatic sci-fi shredding, steel-cold cognitive fado, glossolalia madrigals, metaphysical hip-hop, sunitty conglomerations, abrasive warfare cartoon OSTs. All and all, let’s just call it Quinto Mondo.
