Intimate Stranger es una banda Anglo-chilena indie-rock conformada por Tessie Stranger (voz/guitarra) Lau Stranger (guitarra) Filip Crisis (bajo), Andres Ugarte (batería). 

Influenciado por elementos del post-punk  crean un sonido que se caracteriza por las líneas melódicas de la voz y guitarras atmosféricas, mezclando bases de batería, samplers y sintetizadores. En el programa de Tom Robinson (BBC 6) se describe como “texturizado, ruidoso, calmado y etéreo todo al mismo tiempo, con hermosos vocales- un estilo muy balanceado y difícil de lograr”.

La banda se forma el 2007 por el guitarrista chileno Lautaro Vera y la cantante inglesa- croata Tessie Spoljaric-Woodgate. Inicialmente radicaron parte de su tiempo en Londres, ciudad natal de la cantante. Graban su primer álbum “Life Jacket” (2007) y en esa oportunidad cubren el diverso circuito de locales londinenses. 

Pasan gran parte de su tiempo en giras internacionales, incluyendo Estados Unidos en 2010 y 2011 con presentaciones en SXSW y en locales como The Parish y Emo’s en Austin y The Knitting Factory en Nueva York. Sus singles Under y Moments estuvieron en los top 10 de radios independientes estadounidenses por varios meses en 2011.

De vuelta en Sudamérica, donde radican actualmente, participan en Lollapalooza (2013) y Primavera Fauna (2011) y comparten escenario con varias bandas internacionales, Raveonettes, Interpol, The Walkmen, The Hives, entre otros.

Sus presentaciones en vivo son destacadas por el publico y medios de prensa especializados, tal como lo manifiesta el diario de música Austin Chronicle al catalogar a Intimate Stranger como: “una banda que definitivamente hay que ver en vivo” y los situó dentro de sus top 10.

En Abril 2013 Intimate Stranger lanza su disco Above junto con el video del single Shiny Tears, filmado durante la grabación del álbum en Radio Horizonte, Chile. Above reversiona canciones de su discografía: Life Jacket (2007) Under (2010) y White Streets Dark Fields (2012). De este ultimo se destacan los cinematográficos videoclips de Sleeping in Motion y El Horizonte protagonizado por la banda. 

Actualmente Intimate Stranger se encuentra en pleno proceso de grabación de su quinto álbum, y una intensa agenda de shows dentro de Chile, Argentina, Mexico, y EE.UU.
