32 months, 70 releases, 100 artists. Intricate Records has a lot to be proud of and, at the same time, has a lot of new challenges ahead. As of nowadays the label is definitely the leading sounding board of progressive and melodic house on the territory of Russia and former Soviet Union. But not the ranks and chart positions or fame of individual artists build the success of Intricate Records – it’s the painstaking work, solidarity and talent of the label team that enhance reputation and reliable partner status. The label has become an unfailing spring of high-quality music.

Over a year ago the label released its debut signature compilation, «Intricate Sessions». It quickly became a must-have for both music fans and disc jockeys who filled their players and record boxes with numerous tracks from those two CDs. Today the label is glad to announce the long-awaited sequel. In order to keep up with the good tradition, the responsible people for the 2014 edition are once again the label co-founders, PROFF and Vadim Soloviev.

The key principle remained the same – both producers built up their mixes literary brick by brick selecting only yet unreleased works. The compilation reflects the current tastes and the vision of modern electronic dance music as part of Intricate Records’ entire musical philosophy. No surprise that once again there are two mixes that review the full spectrum of the label’s sound, including numerous productions by its co-founders, residents and regularly-featured industry heavyweights like Lost & Found leader Guy J from Israel, leading resident at Colorize and one of Poland’s dance music scene flagships Sebastian Weikum or impressively experienced Boom Jinx from Norway.

Vadim Soloviev is known for his magic mixing skills, his 2014 selection outspreads from classical progressive with a blend of deep house, electro house and other on-demand styles of today. The track «Beyond» by Pete K is likely inspired by the works of Eric Prydz while «Buggy Funk» by Cramp dumbfounds the listeners with unexpected broken beats. Next comes the hit-single «Shout!» by Sebastian Weikum and «Be Real» that was recorded by Vadim Soloviev together with the British vocalist Drew Darcy, followed by optimistic mainstream «Centimental Crying» by Deep Lark and Chelyabinsk-based singer Irina Makosh. As a dessert come two vocal productions touching to the roots of our being: «Loving Man» by the Dutch favourites Envotion and «Point Of View» by a representative of the Ukraine, V I F.

PROFF is more close-knit in his mix. The first half is built of potential hits like «Robots» by Envotion or enveiling and laid-back remix of Amor Entrave’s «Something Else» by Evgeny Svalov (4Mal) and lyrical, full of piano modulations «Symphony» by the tandem LTN & Ad Brown. Closer to the second part PROFF intentionally gears up and hardens the beat. Prominent producers come into the game – you will notice these are the ones who like to perform in different genres and prefer to create very dancefloor-friendly works. Take a note of D-Mad who combined trance and progressive in his newest track named after the great Russian poet Pushkin. It is hard to walk past the techno-influenced «Audio Pressure» by Cosmonaut, assertive and nerves-rattling with its rapping-tapping «Blue & White» by PROFF himself or also Vladimir’s «You Wanna» with those provoking samples from cartoons.

Peter Illias, whose last single on Silk Royal, "Let Me Be", was supported on radio by Above & Beyond and many more, returns to our imprint with an energetic and richly emotive take. From the very beginning, Peter augments the evocative African influences in the song; he adds additional tribal vox effects, as well as a haunting pad progression. Meanwhile, a punchy, yet deep bassline groove adds plenty of power to the rhythm section. The most memorable moment in the track is perhaps the second of two extended breaks, in which Peter treats us to a variety of new vocal effects, which coalesce brilliantly with the moody and primitive atmosphere.

At that time I was looking for the best label to sign “Rush” for like three or four months, and I thought that I had just made that track for myself. But then I sent it to Anjunabeats after a bunch of other labels that didn’t respond to my submissions. Then, Anjunabeats picked the track and they came to me and asked to make another mix. It was a huge success, and so we just started to work together. After “The Wonder” and “Zara,” we released even more tracks together. Tony, Paavo, and Jono are really good guys and they really know what’s going on on the scene.”

The Russian progressive label Intricate Records presents a new single co-written by Boom Jinx and PROFF, "Blue Angel". It will feature the original version of the track plus remixes by Blend pres. Volant, Vadim Soloviev and Fon.Leman. This in all senses star release was born in the creative laboratory of Intricate Records, mind at least the well-known and multi-talented authors responsible for this newest track. The remarkable constellation was built up of Oistein J. Eide, better known on the international scene as Boom Jinx - a highly experienced Norwegian with a Nordic temper and very high aesthetic sensitivity. 

Oistein is professionally involved into sound design for over 20 years, he also dedicated 9 years to electronic dance music production and DJing. His Boom Jinx name has a strong linkage to Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep brands. His collaborator on this project is Vladimir Yershov aka PROFF, one of Intricate Records' co-founders. Vladimir is widely renowned for his versatile musical talent, nowadays PROFF is an important player of the global club scene. The remix package is not less impressive. 

Their own interpretations were made by the label's co-founder Vadim Soloviev, the most prolific resident of the label Alexey Fon.Leman and the Austria-based producer Blend under his side-project alias Blend pres. Volant. The single's title itself, "Blue Angel", reminds the listeners of mythological heavenly creatures, while the most attentive label followers will notice a possible heading reference to the similarly-named movie from 1930s with Marlene Dietrich in the lead role. According to its plot, a school teacher comes to a harbour tavern "Blue Angel" in order to break his apprentices' habit of night visits to the charming singer Lola-Lola. As a result of such visit, the teacher himself falls under her spell. It is important to mention that the joint production by Boom Jinx and PROFF has a similar impact on the listeners.

Two of the biggest names in EDM joined forces this Summer to create their latest anthem - 'Paralyzed'. BT & Christian Burns' release saw huge chart success followed by an official music video which premiered at THUMP, and now their track has been canonised with 5 brand new remixes from Maor Levi, Juventa, The Spacies, and WAVO remix competition winners T-Mass and Joakim Carley.

First up on remix duties is Israeli production talent Maor Levi who brings his trademark melodic big room sound to the table for an unforgettable 'Paralyzed' experience. Reinventing the bassline and playfully reworking the vocals, Maor Levi was an obvious choice to breathe a new lease of life into the stunning Original.

Up next is Enhanced wunderkind Juventa, who previously mixed half of the acclaimed Enhanced Sessions Volume 4. With his signature progressive style synths and his heavy drums, he creates a melody that will tear apart any club whilst playfully reworking the vocals to sublime effect . Inspired by the original track, Juventa uses his own distinct style to remix 'Paralyzed'.

Third are Enhanced newbies The Spacies who recently released the huge tune 'Voices' with Enhanced regular Estiva. This remix marks a greatly uplifting track, with its huge drums, special effects, and bright synths. The Spacies' take on the Original will have every bone in your body moving.

T-Mass creates a massive dubstep remix for the fourth track. His synth progressions evoke emotion and inspiration, and he uses the Original's vocal samples in a melodically driving way. T-Mass won the WAVO remix competition for 'Paralyzed' with his unique and and extremely addictive take on the track.

WAVO runner up, Swedish producer Joakim Carley turns out a DnB rework of 'Paralyzed'. The pacing drums along with the ethereal synth pads and sentiment-inducing piano chords create a great backdrop for the vocal sample to come through and provoke even more feeling.

These 5 remixes each have their own style and each take on 'Paralyzed' in their own original way. Maor Levi, Juventa, The Spacies, T-Mass and Joakim Carley all manage to create notable remixes of BT & Christian Burns' gem.

But not the ranks and chart positions or fame of individual artists build the success of Intricate Records – it’s the painstaking work, solidarity and talent of the label team that enhance reputation and reliable partner status. The label has become an unfailing spring of high-quality music.

Over a year ago the label released its debut signature compilation, «Intricate Sessions». It quickly became a must-have for both music fans and disc jockeys who filled their players and record boxes with numerous tracks from those two CDs. Today the label is glad to announce the long-awaited sequel. In order to keep up with the good tradition, the responsible people for the 2014 edition are once again the label co-founders, PROFF and Vadim Soloviev.

The key principle remained the same – both producers built up their mixes literary brick by brick selecting only yet unreleased works. The compilation reflects the current tastes and the vision of modern electronic dance music as part of Intricate Records’ entire musical philosophy. No surprise that once again there are two mixes that review the full spectrum of the label’s sound, including numerous productions by its co-founders, residents and regularly-featured industry heavyweights like Lost & Found leader Guy J from Israel, leading resident at Colorize and one of Poland’s dance music scene flagships Sebastian Weikum or impressively experienced Boom Jinx from Norway.

Vadim Soloviev is known for his magic mixing skills, his 2014 selection outspreads from classical progressive with a blend of deep house, electro house and other on-demand styles of today. The track «Beyond» by Pete K is likely inspired by the works of Eric Prydz while «Buggy Funk» by Cramp dumbfounds the listeners with unexpected broken beats. Next comes the hit-single «Shout!» by Sebastian Weikum and «Be Real» that was recorded by Vadim Soloviev together with the British vocalist Drew Darcy, followed by optimistic mainstream «Centimental Crying» by Deep Lark and Chelyabinsk-based singer Irina Makosh. As a dessert come two vocal productions touching to the roots of our being: «Loving Man» by the Dutch favourites Envotion and «Point Of View» by a representative of the Ukraine, V I F.

PROFF is more close-knit in his mix. The first half is built of potential hits like «Robots» by Envotion or enveiling and laid-back remix of Amor Entrave’s «Something Else» by Evgeny Svalov (4Mal) and lyrical, full of piano modulations «Symphony» by the tandem LTN & Ad Brown. Closer to the second part PROFF intentionally gears up and hardens the beat. Prominent producers come into the game – you will notice these are the ones who like to perform in different genres and prefer to create very dancefloor-friendly works. Take a note of D-Mad who combined trance and progressive in his newest track named after the great Russian poet Pushkin. It is hard to walk past the techno-influenced «Audio Pressure» by Cosmonaut, assertive and nerves-rattling with its rapping-tapping «Blue & White» by PROFF himself or also Vladimir’s «You Wanna» with those provoking samples from cartoons.

Our Slovakian friend Peter Illias appeared on the third instalment of the "Arrival Sampler" series with "One Of Us" a year ago. The track now sees a single release with a supporting remix by Terry Da Libra. An enjoyable set of arpeggios and additional synth stabs create a gorgeous soundscape, and later on, unique vocal stems appear to provide additional texture. The harmonic synth riff is a great addition to the song as it is a huge contribution to the overall rhythm of the track. The break displays the mesmerizing vocal stems and the underlying melodic synth riff – two elements that combine beautifully. Greek label resident Terry Da Libra jumps on board this release with a stunning remix. A hypnotizing atmosphere is soon established, consisting of lush background pad layers and a smooth beat with the synth riff from the original on top. Terry's attention to detail is clearly showcased in the break, where a number of synth variations embrace the fascinating vocal effects.

«Intricate Records is something tangible and emerging from our long-term friendship and creative relations. – It is hard to imagine that someone will make an objection regarding many associable details and ideas of our creative work. The most significant part is that our preferences and tastes intricately but harmoniously amplify each other in most cases. All of us feel it. That is why the creation of a record label is a logical step for our career».

A friendship is one thing, but continuous development is vitally important. This is why the fellows decided not to take a break at the level of current achievements and grounded their own record label. «By the times someone discovers the points of coincidence with the colleagues not only in terms of business, but also creative sphere – that is always a positive experience! – Unification of musical efforts in frames of one label is our next and by no means unimportant step in creative self-fulfillment».

It is important to mention that the quad is not going to limit the newborn imprint’s catalog only with own productions. Intricate Records is also a promising platform for implementation of creative aspiration of other talented producers who feel themselves on the same wave quite often.

«Right at the moment there is no single record label which coincides with my musical taste and general conception, which I would like to see being embodied. Starting a new imprint with the fellow guys, I’m looking forward to the having the possibility of fulfilling myself as an A&R-manager and making the current musical world at least a little bit better. We are going to collaborate with our friends and associates from around the world. I certainly believe, if such projects are held with well-intentioned mood and built on relations of friendship, there are certain chances to make something special and terminative».
