Premiere: Tom Middleton 'WYV AUW CHU' (Original Mix)

Following up on their recent original work for Proton Music, Trilucid return to the label with a three-track offering in the shape of "A Moment / Stratos".

A producer duo with a strong and impressive career, Trilucid have been prime movers within the music industry for over 15 years. Coming together as Trilucid in 2009, their performances behind the decks has seen a 5-year residency at Ministry of Sound's Gallery in London, while more than a double century of production credits have shone a light on another aspect of their considerable skillset.

With releases on the likes of the likes of Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto Records, Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital and Paul Thomas' UV, Trilucid have operated at the upper echelons of the underground dance industry with a mature and emotive sound. Regulars on Proton Music, a 2019 debut remixing Stas Drive, with erstwhile production partner, Phil Martyn, was quickly followed by the "Glint" original EP later that year. "Astral" followed in mid-2020 before further remixes for Pole Folder, Petar Dundov and Rick Pier O'Neil, while 2022 then saw the release of the emotive twin-track "The Loved Are Never Lost" in July.

Now returning with a further EP, "A Moment" is founded upon a powerful beat and tight groove that revels in dynamic rapid-fire shakers. A smooth bassline enters the fray while immaculate motifs supply easy dancefloor character. Evolving with pad swirls, call/answer melodic phrasing and shimmering arpeggios, Trilucid's club knowledge is in full evidence as the track waxes and wanes with ease across its duration to create an immaculate dancefloor stormer. A stripped back, "Sunrise" version allows the sumptuous melodies to flow unhindered while a strong cadence is created from the grooved bassline and plucked synth lines.

"Stratos" continues the powerful dancefloor character of its predecessor as a woodblock cuts through the percussive top line. A cascading swathe of melodies soon filter into sonic view as keys, pads and arpeggios combine in a delightful collage of sound. Hitting its stride in the second half, a dynamic bass patterns adds club-friendly force as a chorus of stereo-panned effects make their presence felt before a key change sets up a spine-tingling finale full of dancefloor prowess.

Through "A Moment / Stratos", Trilucid ably illustrate their impressive production talent and dancefloor knowledge.

Here, he once again returns to Bedrock with his “Takin’ Over EP”, showcasing three stunning new creations. 

“With Takin’ Over I wanted to do something for the summer with a slightly old school flavour. It’s the most melodic track I’ve written in a while and I specifically had Ibiza’s beaches in mind in the studio. I wanted it to be a track that would sound good pre-club, post-club and in a club – so the chord stabs are soft and the acid riffs sparse and echoed so it has a laid back feel and I layered some ambient noise in the background so it sounds a bit like it was recorded live at some outdoor beach club somewhere…” – Quivver

The extraordinarily evocative title track is a truly beautiful musical master-class, with a timeless quality that immediately sets this EP apart from so much of today’s disposable mass music production line. “Lose Your Way” ups the energy levels and darkness factor, its filmic qualities taking things into a very different audio-visual realm. In yet more textural contrast, “Time Goes By” displays a deeply euphoric attitude that is uplifting, intelligent and magical. There can be no doubt that Quivver remains one of the world’s standout electronic artists in 2015.

John Graham (Quivver) started his production career in the early 1990’s, and has been a household name within the electronic music scene ever since, operating under various monikers, each representing a different shade of his incredibly broad, eclectic production palette. Not only a worldwide renowned DJ/Producer, as a vocalist, John has collaborated and written electrifying songs for the likes of Hybrid, Planet Funk and also Darren Emerson’s The Low Highs. His new rock/electronic album "Cold Sun" has also just been released.

This August sees Anjunadeep welcome UK producer Joseph Ray for his label debut with ‘Room 1.5 / Chem-EX’. A Grammy Award-winning member of electronic trio NERO, Ray’s career has seen him top the UK Albums Charts and collaborate with acts such as Muse, Chase & Status and Skrillex.

Ray’s love of early jungle is fused with modern warehouse techno on ‘Room 1.5’, a huge moment at Anjunadeep events over the past six months when dropped by James Grant & Jody Wisternoff. B-side ‘Chem-EX’ takes on a more melodic approach, pairing cavernous drones with light arpeggios.

Since making his label debut on 'Explorations 07’ back in 2018, Marsh has solidified himself as a firm label favourite and future star. Championed by the likes of Joris Voorn, Kölsch, and Phil Taggart at BBC Radio 1, Marsh now returns with his ‘Lost In You EP’.

Leading with ‘Lost In You’, Marsh lends his own vocal to the track, characteristically weaving a driving bass with groove-laden percussion. Next up, with its shivering arpeggios riffs and dreamlike atmospherics, the reminiscent ‘Gijpe’ gives a nod to the label’s inaugural ‘Explorations’ festival in Dhërmi last summer where Marsh performed on the secluded beaches of Albania’s Ionia Coast. A highlight from ‘Anjunadeep 11’ earlier in the year, Marsh closes the EP with another meticulously crafted melodic cut with the piano-led ‘Human’.

A friendship is one thing, but continuous development is vitally important. This is why the fellows decided not to take a break at the level of current achievements and grounded their own record label. «By the times someone discovers the points of coincidence with the colleagues not only in terms of business, but also creative sphere – that is always a positive experience! – Unification of musical efforts in frames of one label is our next and by no means unimportant step in creative self-fulfillment».

It is important to mention that the quad is not going to limit the newborn imprint’s catalog only with own productions. Intricate Records is also a promising platform for implementation of creative aspiration of other talented producers who feel themselves on the same wave quite often.

«Right at the moment there is no single record label which coincides with my musical taste and general conception, which I would like to see being embodied. Starting a new imprint with the fellow guys, I’m looking forward to the having the possibility of fulfilling myself as an A&R-manager and making the current musical world at least a little bit better.
