Schodt's contribution to Silk Royal since our imprint's launch in May 2009 has been second to none: he not only has released more tracks with us than any other artist, but his richly melodic, hyper emotive, and often adrenalin-fueled sound has come to define our brand. It is our great honor to present "April", the 1st single from his forthcoming "Darkness | Light" artist album.

The song jets out of the gate with a furious rhythm, as stutter vocals quickly make their entrance as well. At the quarter turn, we are met by a teaser of the awe-inspiring lead chord progression. As the song begins its dramatic build toward the main break, the listener is treated to Schodt's many artistic signatures in full glory: sweeping strings, delicate piano strokes, and, of course, the rapturous vocal stabs that punctuate the groove. In the breakdown, the bass erupts with thunderous wobble effects, while the hypnotic sequence of vocal effects overhead, like the mythological Sirens, fully entrance anyone who dares to stand in their way.

[Serious mode on] We’re still in the early stages of this journey we’re calling TKDJS, and while we’ve written a bunch of unreleased music, there’s still SO much we want to do. It’s not all bangers and looped beats...we’ve always wanted to make music that is lasting...that has feeling...that tells stories, and is written as a song, first and foremost.  This is the first record down that road for us, and we’re really proud of it.  

We teamed up with the incredibly creative, talented and just all around chill-dude AYER and wrote this song with him over two sessions.  Once in the lab and once in our hometown studio in Brooklyn. “Don’t Leave” is a story about meeting someone new...at a party, at a club, wherever your scene might take you, hitting it off and wanting to spend more time with that person. Unfortunately that’s not how it always ends up. If this has ever happened to you, you know what we mean.

Anyway, we think the track turned out pretty damn good. Give it a listen and hear for yourself.

Who are TKDJS - 2 out of 3 are true// 

1) While recording “Don’t Leave” we asked Ayer to sing 2 octaves higher, thinking he’d never be able to, but sure enough he did, and we actually used some of those cuts as accents in the finished track.
2) After every session we do Soulcycle and then Juice Press to sweat it out and decompress. Namaste bro. #kalefam
3) Our dream is to one day move to Bali for 6 months to surf and work on a full album.

Newcomer Kieran is hotly tipped for success, having come to the attention of some of the best artists in the scene as head honcho and resident DJ for Edinburgh house and techno party ‘Tweak_’.

Opener ‘All I Want’ is a standout composition, featuring the vocals of singer/producer and Nicolas Jaar collaborator Leon Power. It is followed up by the instrumental ‘Elle’ which, more arpeggio-driven, shares the same spiritual feel and electronic soul as the title track.

The Editions on the EP are worthy of the original material. Between them, Aera and Manuel Tur have amassed classic releases on labels as seminal and worthy of reference as Innervisions, Hivern Discs, Freerange and Running Back.

Aera’s Edition blends afro techno, chopped vocals and a beguiling synth sequence to winning effect, in a version heavy on dark drama.

Meanwhile, Manuel Tur turns in two versions, both equally stunning. The first is driving and twisted; the most dancefloor-oriented track on the EP. Meanwhile the second makes the very most of the original’s vocals, placing the focus on live instrumentation and a disco groove.

A stunning and versatile package, we are proud to be a part of launching Kieran Apter's artist career and are excited for what's to come.

Valdemaras Baranovskis aka Weepee is a star on the Lithuanian progressive scene. Weepee has already forged several top tracks, is a talented DJ and on the side he runs his own record label.

Enhanced Music and Colorize welcomes this inspiring talent and his production called Lilt. Lilt is deep, progressive in its structure and has got a drawing entrancing effect. Progressive as it should be!

Danish producer Schodt, who delivered the first release on Colorize back in 2011, has supplied a sublime breaks effort. This remix is pure summer with its warm pads and acoustic guitar strings - a truly beautiful take on Lilt.

Matt Fax has taken on Lilt and given it an uplifting facelift; taking it to a new energy level and adding on a big melody.

That is why the creation of a record label is a logical step for our career».

A friendship is one thing, but continuous development is vitally important. This is why the fellows decided not to take a break at the level of current achievements and grounded their own record label. «By the times someone discovers the points of coincidence with the colleagues not only in terms of business, but also creative sphere – that is always a positive experience! – Unification of musical efforts in frames of one label is our next and by no means unimportant step in creative self-fulfillment».

It is important to mention that the quad is not going to limit the newborn imprint’s catalog only with own productions. Intricate Records is also a promising platform for implementation of creative aspiration of other talented producers who feel themselves on the same wave quite often.

«Right at the moment there is no single record label which coincides with my musical taste and general conception, which I would like to see being embodied. Starting a new imprint with the fellow guys, I’m looking forward to the having the possibility of fulfilling myself as an A&R-manager and making the current musical world at least a little bit better. We are going to collaborate with our friends and associates from around the world. I certainly believe, if such projects are held with well-intentioned mood and built on relations of friendship, there are certain chances to make something special and terminative».
