Somewhere near the intersection of liquid funk and atmospheric/dub tech, you'll find the artist called Insideman. Firmly tethered to the techno and ambient textures of late-1990's deep drum-n-bass, but with an eye on breakbeat futurism, his sound is both a spectre from the past and a vision for what could be; breaking through as a DJ on London’s vibrant pirate radio scene in the late 90s, he quickly became a fixture in the club and warehouse rave scene in Southern England before establishing shows on Bassdrive and Point Blank FM (and now fully licensed on DAB Radio). Those shows still thrive, a testament to his consummate skills as a selector. But more importantly, his own extensive catalogue of releases on a myriad of labels such as Influence Records, Locked Up Music, Flight Pattern, Default Recordings, Omni Music, Onward Music, Beats In Mind,  Soul Deep Recordings, FX 909 Music, Sub-Label, Think Deep, Liquid Brilliants, and Deconstructed, transform his sets into extensions of his singular sonic vision, which continues to grow and evolve.

Wicked City the Future Funk band from Krafty Kuts, Dynamite MC, Damien Soul, Erb N Dub, Skope, Steve Yamaha & Big R.

Not being confined by their various musical backgrounds Wicked City is combination of award winning artists simply making the music they love.

With releases and remixes on Owsla, Instant Vibes, Low Temp and writing music for Yamaha plus support from UKF this new project is gaining great momentum.

With various sold out shows in London under their belts Wicked City have a live show compete with visuals and state of the art backline that can Funk Up any big stage.

2016 brings a brand new EP, their debut music video (Directed by FlipSide artist Jessica Van Der Weert) and a remix of the classic track Zap - More Bounce To The Ounce.

Ever since climbing onto the soulful drum and bass vibe over 2 decades ago, Random Movement (Mike Richards) production skills and DJ technique have pushed him to the forefront of stateside drum & bass, drawing in an audience of both old and young listeners. With multiple yearly performances at major clubs and festivals covering 4 continents, his unique sound and unmistakable style continue to spread across the globe.

With the release of his album, singles, remixes, and many collaborations with Marky & S.P.Y, JayBee, Dave Owen, T.R.A.C, and Ben Soundscape, his tracks have turned many heads to his unique skillset in songwriting and production. Random Movement’s soulful, smooth, deep and jazzy vibes have landed releases on Hospital, Innerground, V, CIA, Integral, Fokuz, Good Looking, Creative Source, Intrigue and more.

Between tours, production, a weekly live radio show on Bassdrive.com, a monthly podcast, and most recently the start up of his label “Flight Pattern”, things are continuing to be very productive for this prolific producer. His uplifting style and great personality are not something to be missed on the decks.

Nu:Tone is a name that automatically populates in a seasoned drum & bass brain upon hearing the words Hospital Records. But Nu:Tone’s first drum and bass release was actually put out in 2001 on John B’s label Beta Recordings after the pair became friends and established the local club night ‘Substance’ in Durham.  On returning to his hometown Cambridge, Nu:Tone met a squad of like-minded musical mates and eventually released the ‘Future Sound of Cambridge’ EP on Hospital in 2004.

With five solo studio albums to boast as well as a wealth of singles, and EP’s, Nu:Tone’s tracks can always be heard across dancefloors and the festival circuit. From his first studio album “Brave Nu World” to third studio album “Words and Pictures” (which was perhaps his most ambitious project) and all before, in-between and after, Nu:Tone’s output always gleans the full support of the wider dance music community’s biggest tastemakers from Annie Mac and Rene La Vice to Toddla T and David Rodigan. Nu:Tone regularly tours Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, confirming his global appeal. 

Nu:Tone can also be heard as part of other collaborative projects, like Nu:Logic, the Hospital Records signed sibling duo of him and Logistics. Or as part of Danism, under which he releases house with great success. Danism’s track “No Limits’ reached number one on the Traxsource chart in 2019 and received DJ support from house royalty Louie Vega, Danny Krivit and Todd Terry. 

Having a keen ear for other people’s music is something that we see from Nu:Tone in a multitude of projects. While working for Hospital as part of the A&R team, he also continues to work as a mastering engineer for Innerground, Spearhead and Soulvent Records. He fondly states an annual highlight for him is the stage he curates with Logistics at Sardinia’s famous Sun & Bass festival each year, and it’s clearly something he enjoys as he’s been back every year since 2003 (except one year when his eldest was born!)
