I was very pleased when Dustin Morris from Vancouver contacted me and asked me to conceptualize the next Dewtone Podcast. This truly is a great honor, since I´ve been a listener of Dewtone Radio from day one, and still am a big fan. Dustin´s taste for Ambient, Electronica and Deep Dub Tech House at his radio station and same-titled Label still pleases me to this day! I am a big fan. So hereby I reply and thank him with a conscious selection of an electronic subgenre of dreamy Ambient, abstract Electronica and Deep Dub Tech implied Tracks, which are arranged in 3 phases. MIX26 Dream Essence (Dewtone Podcast)

Dub techno is sometimes produced with vocals resulting in surprinsingly good results more than often. I ve selected 25 tracks which features vocalists (and some vocal samples) like Paul St-Hilaire and Benji. This is slowly meandering spacedub with deep, peaceful and dreamy lush ambient pads and dubby basslines. Though the old Rhythm & Sound influence is still clear—especially on the track Child was I—but what these producers are making truly feels fresh.

This episode is mixed by two Potsdam based guys. "Lesterr & Gaya Kloud". A great journey of  dubby Techno with a lot of deepness. Enjoy this beauty!

Lesterr & Gaya Kloud - Deep Afterhour Nr. 394

For over 20 years Martin Jarl was something of an anomaly in my record collection. At the turn of the century, I was largely buying records on the likes of Deepchord, Salz, Nurture, Bluetrain & Minus THX. I'd also been following the emergence of some labels pushing the more minimal sound for a couple of years, the likes of Out to Lunch, Playhouse & Raum...musik. After the closure of Atlas in Soho I habitually shopped in Smallfish; and I remember adding Martin's Weetabix EP to the listening pile. Upon hearing it I immediately bought two copies, and for the next two decades considered it one of my 'desert island discs'. 

By 2024 both copies were hammered and full of surface noise, and what started out as a tentative ask for some wav files, turned into an opportunity to re-release a track from one of my favourite records. Frankly I could've gone for any of the four tracks. Whether Martin knew to what extent or not; including a remaster of the title track in last year's V/A compilation was a really special moment in lempuyang's journey. Naturally I also asked him if he'd be up for recording a mix for the series. Martin is anything but prolific, and good things truly come to those who wait.

Recorded on a bright Saturday afternoon at Silence Please, the beautiful hi-fi speaker showroom and listening space in SoHo New York City. This set drifts through ambient dub techno and downtempo grooves. Icy textures, hazy tape hiss, and deep cuts from my own catalog blended with selections from labels MixCult and Spclnch (Space Lunch). As the room filled with people, foggy grooves and stillness in motion slowly gave way to more uptempo dub techno, carrying the energy of the afternoon forward.
