Cinder Path formed in Sheffield in 2025, when singer, guitarist, and
songwriter Dan Whitehouse teamed up with bassist Angela Holland (Silent Age, Via Holland) and drummer Dave Timmons (Rossmann Frister, Fallen Trees).

Dan’s name is already familiar across the local and wider music scene - he first came to light with Fights, Rossmann Frister, and later Mabel Love, most recently appearing on stage as a session musician for Reverend and the Makers and Stoney.

The project began in late 2024, when Dan started recording at
Sheffield’s Broadcast Recording Studio, working with Matt and Lucy Board from the acclaimed shoegaze band Pale Blue Eyes.

The band’s sound draws comparisons to Interpol, Doves, The Cure, and other acts from the worlds of post-punk and shoegaze - a modern, emotive sound that feels both familiar and new.

Thomas & The Empty Orchestra is the music of Thomas Matthew Bower. Sheffield born he moved to the twin city of Bochum, Germany in late 2020.

Taking influence from the likes of Paul Simon, Nick Drake, Bon Iver, Iron & Wine, The Good Life, Fleet Foxes and the broader American emo scene he crafts folk songs rich with poetic imagery; tales of frailty, love, the grim English North and the transience of being. 

He is working on new music currently, with a view to releasing and touring in 2021 (global pandemic permitting).

Started as a drummer but then they let me get hold of some other instruments. One man band composing and recording at home; styles (roughly) include post-rock/electronic/acoustic/ambient/experimental. 
Song-based more guitar-driven project titled 'Bin day!' coming  early 2026 with the albums 'Regular fit' and 'Salvage Plan.' Like buses; you wait 3 years then 2 come at once. I'm not entirely sure if 'socio-critical' is the right term, but they explore themes of social conventions and norms, how habits and customs seem to unconsciously change as we age. Also working at a soul-destroying job and the craziness of a large bureacracy. I take a swipe at myself too and there's occasional humour. Aiming to put out on this and other platforms...

Dan Atrill has played in a number of UK bands. Writing and performing as Ideal Takeaway in Southend-on-Sea. 

As guitarist in Suspicious Objects (2015-2019), an Anglo-Italian Krautrock-influenced outfit they received praise for their live performances at London’s Betsey Trotwood venue. 

He played over 100 gigs with his band Spring Park Motel from 2008 to 2013, including helping to run a monthly club night and making appearances at the annual East Finchley and East Barnet festivals. The band regularly played  around Camden, North London, and at a number of long running popular music events including Honky Tonkin’ Sundays, What’s Cookin’, Come Down And Meet The Folks, Dusk Till Dawn and Clerkenville West. Their recorded output can be found on Spotify and on an independently released CD titled Cousins In Arms. 

Dan previously embraced power pop as guitarist, then bass player in radio-friendly band, The Melancholiacs, who split in 2007 after their last gig at Islington’s Hope & Anchor.

Influences are far and wide including a fascination with fat synth sounds and multi-layered guitars. He writes and records musical collaborations from his home studio in Essex.
