Mark Henning‘s diverse musical career has seen him produce minimal, house and techno for an array of labels including Freude Am Tanzen, Trapez, Hypercolour and Mike Shannon’s Cynosure imprint over a 10 year span. In 2008 Mark quit his city job in London and relocated to Berlin with his wife to focus on music; a move that occasioned his ‘Jupiter Jive’ LP on Soma. So far in 2014 Mark has released his debut EP for his own label ‘Swing‘, serving up two slabs of stomping 3am warehouse style tracks. We caught up with Mark to discuss ‘Swing’, as well as his earlier ambitions.

Nehza Records sharpen their dense catalogue with 'Bolle', a shadowy, pulse-driven expedition from Milan-based producer Yas Reven...Among the standouts, 'Slow Pulse' emerges as a mutant anthem, drenched in dub resonance and kinetic drum interplay. Opening with a Gqom-inflected war cry, Reven lays down a constellation of space-echoed snares, glistening harp motifs and nocturnal jungle field recordings that flicker like jaguar eyes in the mist. It feels like a shape-shifting excursion where Al Wootton’s tectonic sub-science would fuse with the propulsive energy of a backroom percussive ritual - primed for sweat-drenched, leather-clad basements.

Mumbai-based musician, DJ and producer NATE08 returns with his sophomore album ‘Twenty Seven’ - a luminous fusion of R&B, deep house, and funk-leaning grooves, pressed to a single 140g LP in black vinyl. 
Three years on from his acclaimed debut Furaha, NATE08 expands his sonic palette with a radiant collection of tracks that balance soul-soaked vocals, late-night basslines, and warm, sun-drenched production. 

NATE08, aka Nathan Thomas, has become a central figure in Mumbai’s thriving underground, working as a session bass player, live performer, and genre-spanning DJ, while making an international impact through releases on label Needwant. ‘Twenty Seven’ captures his full range: Organic, synthetic, smooth yet floor-ready, always driven by heartfelt groove. 
From the dreamy opener ‘You’re The Reason’ featuring Mary Ann Alexander’s velvety tones, to the nostalgic glow of lead single ‘Where Are You Tonight’ (feat. Dishaan & Mallika), the album unfolds like a love letter to house music’s emotional core. Highlights include the syrupy R&B/house hybrid ‘Afterlife’ (feat. For our final release of the year on Shades Of Sound Recordings, our global spotlight for exciting new music falls on Buenos Aires, where Argentinian producer On The Reg (@otrmusica) delivers a stunning 4-track EP of deep house and balearica.

This collection sees a blending of warm, rolling grooves with lush pads, sun-washed melodies, and subtle organic textures. A sound that glides effortlessly between late-night introspection and golden-hour calm with nods to ‘90s downtempo and breakbeat influences, infusing the EP with a nostalgic edge that recalls early Café del Mar compilations and the halcyon days of chillout rooms and coastal sunsets.

Across its four pieces, Hernán captures that timeless Balearic balance between rhythm and reflection, offering music equally suited to intimate club sets, beachside sessions, and long night drives.
