Things had changed significantly when he reached home. The surroundings seemed unrecognisable; the buildings, the streets, the family run businesses — regeneration and gentrification had grasped the town with both hands and stolen its memories. How could just a few years make such a difference? Change was inevitable but this level of unfamiliarity left a sour taste in his mouth. What once belonged to him and every other inhabitant of this community had been snatched away.

'Inverted Echoes' captures different strains of music for the dance floor, from bass-driven excursions to cosmic rhythms and downtempo cuts. In early 2020 Niv Ast released the monstrous “Beau Chien” on Optimo Music Digital Danceforce, just as the world was shutting down. This year he returns to a re-opened world with “ Le Retour Du Chein”, a monstrous continuation of the theme, though this time the theme is ACID. Niv’s 303 is set to stun here and then half way through a surprise Discoid bomb goes off. The other two tracks are Acid dance machines whose sole purpose is to make people move, and of course put a smile on their face. BOOM!

Every track has its own spirit, in a kind of a 90s journey way.
The compilation is a fascinating mixture of weird cosmic and slow goa sequences to more emotional places with powerful bassdriven downtempo techno and slightly trance influenced anthems as well as distinctive tribal acid easiness with melancholic pads and epic melodies. Furthermore it involves faster loaded minimal hypnotic synth sounds and dark UK-House with a big-beat touch to it. Raw liquid floating sharp breaks melts into rave stompers which are inhabited by sensitive living microbes vibrating jungle atmospheres.

Here is a new signing on Factor City (@factorcity). Uranio Empobrecido (@uranio_empobrecido) is the alias of Jorge Gutierrez, the founder and head engineer of the NANO Modules synthesizers brand based and born in Valencia.
He creates his music using his own modular creations together with drum machines. Influenced by electro & breakbeat his music is mechanical, dark and cold as ice. But full of analog warmth at the same time. Here we have three new examples of his raw, energetic and very personal take on electronic music. Moving electrons back and forth!

We instantly thought in Ratlife’s honcho and electro wizard Credit 00 (@credit00ratlife) to remix one of the tracks on the ep. He choosed “Bandpass Activated” and delivered a monster of a remix with his very own sound signature.

For the second remix we asked Facets head of Samo records. He delivered a 4x4 dope rework of “Heating Electrons” paying tribute to Valencia’s “ruta del bakalao” sound and energy. Perfect way to complete the EP.

Electric Shapes continue their busy schedule with an EP from Auren, a new addition to their ever-growing roster. Aptly named Electrically Shaped, the release is made up of four tracks that could soundtrack dark nights at the club or huge grandiose spaces. Its cinematic and atmospheric, matching rumbling bass lines and breakbeat rhythms with chopped and screwed vocal samples.
