It was during a residency on a farm in the Breton marshlands of Vendée, between rain, wind and timid rays of sunshine, that Cwtch awakened a captivating EP: "Noise Field". The two creative souls confronted their worlds in an electronic dance, shaping a unique soundscape. In this second EP, Theodore and Vincent solidify their musical identity, pushing back the boundaries of their ideas and production concepts. Noise Field is a panorama in which melodies interweave with the crackling sounds of synthesizers. "Voyage Voyage Voyage" by DJ Salinger is not your typical mixtape; it's a subjective journey through 80's pop songs, reimagined by London-based French producer and site friend @franzkirmann. These tracks, like the iconic "Voyage voyage" by Desireless, evoke memories of summers in France, heard on radios or at local events. Kirmann's sonic treatments distort and suspend the music, creating a dreamy, distant quality that enhances themes of escapism. The result is an ambient reinterpretation of nostalgic synth pop, reminiscent of distant radio transmissions. While the essence of the original songs remains, they are transformed into a mesmerizing sonic tapestry. In essence, it's a nod to the past through a contemporary lens, akin to imagining a cover of "Voyage, voyage" by artists like Fennesz or My Bloody Valentine.

Bruit Fantôme. That's what we call tinnitus. It's a sometimes incessant whistling sound that comes unexpectedly and whose origin seems mysterious. It's also the name of an enigmatic character born from the sequencers of an MAO software and a love of jazz without reference points.

And while Bruit Fantôme's rhythms are unfailingly precise, the punk spirit and elements of surprise intrude at every interstice of his music. With synthwave layers painted on broken kicks and nebulous acid melodies, he transports listeners into a space-time rift, heading for 80s Detroit.

His new EP Egypte Pyramide is a vibrant tribute to this era, marked by artists such as Egyptian Lover and Drexciya, at the crossroads of cybernetic techno and organic hypnosis. A-Sim and Evenn add a new dimension to the whole with their remixes bridging the gap with today's club scene.

Belfast’s Robin Wylie has long been twisting up heavy, analogue bass sounds, winning the ears of the likes of David Holmes along the way. After debuting on Ritual Poison with the swirling, hazy breaks of ‘St Paul’s’ on last year’s ‘Pharmakon’ compilation, he arrives full force with four-tracker ‘What is Zero?’
Built around booming subs, bubbling acid and ecstatic female vocals, the title track highlights Wylie’s knack for dancefloor fusion, peak time electro seeped in subtle rave flavours. ‘Pulse Track’ draws inspiration from somewhere between 90s techno and bleep, adding a modern percussive drive and bass weight. The electro-breaks of ‘Shadows In The Sunlight’ serves up a journey of tension and release, building then breaking in waves of 303. And ‘Kid Dynamite’ earns its title, low end exploding under heavy breakbeat house riding crunchy acid, whoops and warping effects.
Artwork come from label favourite Alec Jagodzinski, whose 2000 AD-inspired imagery accentuates the EP’s sonic evocation of resistance to an encroaching dystopian future.

C Powers operates out of a terminal running P Klang G13 creator engine on 69xo, blasting her block-rocking pig-smashing beats straight to mp3 and often in one or less takes, live direct out of Portland but globally present and cybernetically ubiquitous. CH Rom is headquartered in NYC and performs content creation with a refurbished organic matcha-truffle hybrid 96kbps system, playing upwards of 4200 notes a day.

Together they are Pump Media Unlimited, widely celebrated in the bass drum scene and known for blistering tempos reaching as high as 420, even 1213 BPM. The Pumps are at once profoundly in touch with the ancient history of bass, and yet notably 65 million years ahead of their time.

Each of their records is as much a statement as an adventure, and “Chessy!” (Itals, not quotes) is no exception. There’s something for everyone here—like crunchy vapor bass? Prefer your zipzaps with 128th note triplet hihats? Dig synth, but only vegan? Hate cops and the whole global imperial terrorstate crypto death cult? You’re listening to the right music.
