This is part 1 of a series of 3 Various Artists Compilations (I, II and III) to close the Invisible catalogue.

Thursday May 30th, Ascension Day, we confirmed that Invisible will stop releasing music. The drum & bass label was launched in 2010 as the experimental and new-talent-championing leg of our original flagship imprint Vision and multiple genre label Division.

All good things must come to an end, though. We will release three Invisible compilations with the name ‘INVISIBLE Definition’ to close the catalogue over the coming months and this is the first one. And while it seems like the end of an era, it’s actually the start of a new one. Nik and Thijs explain in an interview with UKF:

We welcome Genic back to Dispatch for ‘The Bug’ / ‘Uncertainty’. Last seen on the label in 2019 the talented duo return with two tracks of the rolling, technical funk we love at Dispatch Recordings.

Sci-fi oscillations and a B-movie ethos run all the way through ‘The Bug’, a track that builds and layers into a paranoid stepper, revealing the monstrous rolling bass synth that gives this tune such impact.

‘Uncertainty’ completes the release with more heavy-bass funk, driven by progressive synths and future tech step sounds.

Monty unveils his techno influences in this roller with a lead that playfully changes expression as it opens,closes and filters over the course of the tune. It weaves a seamless story on the dance floor over 16 bar phrases. Minimal drums aptly compliment the hypnotic motif of the tune. Ironically Error31000 is flawless. It delivers a spell binding idea without much of a breakdown and rolls along keeping the floor peppy.
