Dr. Michael Gervais is fascinated by the psychology of high performance, in rugged environments. Throughout the past 15 years, Michael has been in the trenches with some of the best performers in the world – some who shift how we conceive what’s possible — others who have pushed their own boundaries — ranging from hall of fame athletes to action sport game-changers,  entrepreneurs, Mixed Martial Artists, to musicians who influence the rhythm of the world. He’s excited to share the many paths toward mastery and provide very applied practices that we can all use to be and do more in our time together.

The brand-new music from Seattle songwriter, Joel DeJong, represents true cacophonic breakthrough. Fists through the cemented brick wall, the green-red bud through the brown soil, the first raindrop before a summer thunderstorm. For DeJong, who goes by the moniker, ioele (pronounced ee-oh-eh-lay), both to his closest personal friends, and now when he writes his electronic, hopeful fusion tracks, the COVID-19 pandemic bore many hardships, but it also provided the keyhole through which to learn, grow and put forth his life-affirming, climactic compositions.  
 
Early in 2020, DeJong was on his way to the recording studio, set to finish a different sonic project, when the facility announced it had closed due to the pandemic. Additionally, Crowdsource Choir, a thriving neighborhood pop-up choir DeJong founded, similarly had to fold. With no outlets left, DeJong looked inward. He studied music production, dove deep into new genres. In a way, he began to take hold of his literal dreamscapes, bringing them to the fore through newly learned creative techniques. Liberated, DeJong made more.  
 
He spent late nights in a makeshift backyard shed studio. He broke through "to the other side," he says, with synths, EDM inspiration, pop, rock and more. His new songs, “Bells” and “Hope Out Loud” soar, glisten, and roar. They could easily feature on the opening credits of a popular Disney or Pixar animated film. They galvanize, inducing grins. To laugh, smirk or chortle - these are revolutionary acts, day in and day out. To live brighter and bigger while taking the reins of your hope, that’s the aim of art.
