The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

You lucky, lucky people. With the next Intec event slated for early this October we've got a real peach of a treat for you today if you attended their last session here back in April. Don't get us wrong, if you didn't make it down, we've still got a tasty gift for you and your stereo system, but it might well prove to be that extra bit special if you did witness it first hand previously. It'll be great most probably because whilst listening you'll get to relive moments that have slipped silently out of your short term memory but lets be honest, it's also mainly just because we're here, excitedly sharing an awesome set from the Intec boss Carl Cox himself.

Creamfields is an electronic dance music festival series founded and organised by British club promoter Cream, with its UK edition taking place on August Bank Holiday weekend, with a number of international editions held across various territories worldwide.

First held in 1998 in Winchester, the festival moved to Cream's home city of Liverpool the following year, taking place on the old Liverpool airport, before moving to its current location on the Daresbury estate in Cheshire. The festival, having initially begun as a one-day event with 25,000 people in attendance, is now a four-day event with camping options hosting 70,000 per day.

The festival is the UK's oldest and most prestigious electronic dance music festival.
