BXR was created in 1992 as Italodance label but after four releases it was stopped. At the end of 1995 it was re-started by Gigi D'Agostino (the first record was Fly) under the name BXR Noise Maker and with a new music style: Progressive Trance (in Italy it was named "Mediterranean Progressive").
The label has used the name BXR Noise Maker (Noise Maker was payoff) from 1995 to 2000. In 2000 the name was switched again to BXR, and in the same time Gigi D'Agostino received his own sub-label called Noisemaker. Even the style of BXR was changed into Techno.
A&R was Mauro Picotto until 2002. Then the A&R were Mario Più and Joy Kitikonti. BXR was stopped in 2006 and restarted by Gianfranco Bortolotti in November 2015. The Current A&R as of 02.02.2016 is "Philipp Kieser".
