Alina Kalancea is a sonic alchemist who can warp and weave electronic
signals into complex tapestries of synthesized analog timbre. These
transportive environments were recorded using the artist's personal
collection of historic Buchla electronic music instruments including
Allen Strange's expanded Music Easel.
Letters Never Sent, Alina Kalancea's second full length for Imprec
follows 2021's double LP titled Impedance and is being released at the
same time as a new cassette titled Alchemy.
Kalancea's music has the ability to evoke both emotion and image;
feeling and landscape; passion and place. She described recording
Letters Never Sent as being like collecting images that are born in
your mind. Shades of sound, tone, color and feeling shape the
experience of listening to Kalancea's work.
Kalancea's work is made of malleable sonic material that never looks
or sounds the same way twice. Part of the magic of the music, and her
work is similar to ELEH in this way, is that her work leaves room for
the conscious and unconscious emotions of the listener. How you react
is partially a result of how you feel at the time.
Alchemy, Alina Kalancea's subsequent cassette being released
simultaneously, is a limited edition appendix to the album Letters
Never Sent.

CYTOXCIS 2101

77 years into the future 

Medical science-tech has extended the life expectancy of the current Gen Alpha by 15-20  years. A.I multi-sensory immersion therapies and body mods, ‘sentient’ nano-tattoos, identity/ideology altering surgeries and psychosomatic medicine  has revolutionised humanity’s psychic landscape  but the body, by its very nature and core, tends toward entropy.

Enter CYTOXCIS: a sprawling, underground medical metropolis engaged in psycho-body-spiritual transcendence programs for those whose lives are on the brink of total collapse, disoriented and deteriorated by the perilous realities of this mortal coil, of a world and her bodies trapped in constant hyper socio-politico-spiritual crises, of flesh paying the price of obsessions. 

CYTOXCIS  is memory mapping of dystopian/utopian rave and cross cultural histories , where bodies in induced comatose are entered' into guided perpetual interior flow states: activated by fringe audio/video/lighting medicine,  cyber\ primeval dance floor shamanism, genre -DNA data-bending, and mind-altering nanotech creatures moving in blood/nerve/synapse lines. 


Those  on the brink of mortal death are tuned via frequencies/vibrations of [post-future media into the Spiritual collective foundations and energia built upon generations that came before. From generation-Z's psycho-spiritual-identity reformations and acceleration programs, to the  roots of perennial wisdom that informed the earliest of religions. 

we enter CYTOXCIS as a counter to the dystopian trauma  of the body/state/planet,  from and forming a future civilisation.

First test run of my new solo live setup consisting of my Verbos Electronics Modular Synth and an Elektron Octatrack. Everything is improvised and live patched on the spot with minimal drum samples from OT. The modular is mixed inside the Octatrack to make the setup as simple as possible without the need of an external mixer.

I have uploaded this as a starting point for further improvement, so please let me know what you think.

RA.1000 launches with Theo Parrish, live at fabric: a vanishingly rare club mix from the king of deep crates and impossible transitions.

There are DJ sets and then there are Theo sets. No matter how many times you've caught him in action, every time still feels like the first. Running hot, levels smoking, isolator working over time. You think you know dance music? Think again.

Parrish's debut on the RA Podcast is a milestone for the series, one we've sought for over 15 years. So it was only right that Theo led off our 1000th celebrations. Recorded live at fabric last December as part of RA's party with the London club for their 25th anniversary, this three-hour segment documents the crescendo of his eight-hour marathon. 

The Detroit legend doesn't release mixes often, and when he does, they're usually studio recordings: think NTS shows, his 100% Detroit edition of DJ-Kicks or classic tapes Body (1997) and Methods of Movement (2000). A capture of the Sound Signature boss on the dancefloor is hard to come by.

Sure, there's galvanising build-ups and crowd-pleasers, but laced throughout a Parrish beatdown are rarities designed to shock the system. In a business dominated by marketing, the vinyl master towers above thanks to a relentless hunger for lustrous melodies, moods and textures of all stripes, which he and he alone can fold into an inspiring and exhilarating joyride.

On RA.1000, blissful reggae precedes new wave disco; '80s R&B morphs into synthy techno; bleepy Chicago jack makes way for a poignant vocal ballad. It's Theo through and through. Once again, he proves that anything and everything is possible with the right records.

'𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣' is a series of dance tracks released periodically throughout 2023. The series is inspired by the defining harmony of rhythm and sound. The abstraction of simple techno beats and the processed overlaying of musical percussions is at the core of this exploration into the depth and complexity of techno. each track is composed in a simplified way, with a limited set-up of just one drum machine and the artist's own voice. The live show is pared back, with the intention of being able to play in a variety of venues and with an affordance that allows the music to be tweaked on stage for the occasion.

Per il settimo episodio di DTE ospite Giale (Unoclab) che ci porta in un viaggio frammentato e stratificato tra elettronica e immaginario Otaku, esplorando il legame tra club culture, soundtrack e ricordi personali tratti dai videogames giapponesi anni 90/2000.

"Questo progetto nasce da un percorso molto personale, che ha le radici nella mia infanzia e che negli anni ha plasmato inconsapevolmente il mio immaginario musicale e artistico. Non è un dj set in senso stretto, ma un collage sonoro: vinili, CD, campioni registrati dalle mie console, frammenti recuperati online e dialoghi di anime e videogames. Alcune parti sono state mixate dal vivo, altre create in post-produzione con una DAW, intrecciando anche mie produzioni mai pubblicate composte negli anni ispirandomi a questi mondi."

DJ e artista visivo milanese con un background londinese, fondatore dello studio Unolab e della serie di eventi Unoclab. Giale ha trascorso oltre 15 anni collezionando dischi e affinando uno stile personale che fonde suoni profondi ed emotivi con l'energia grezza della cultura rave.
I suoi set esplorano le intersezioni tra bass, deep techno e IDM, tracciando orbite sempre più ampie attraverso stili e tempi con transizioni nette e un lavoro meticoloso con i fader. Le sue selezioni spaziano principalmente tra brani britannici ricchi di sub-bassi, techno ispirata a Detroit, nostalgia rave anni '90, beat 909 saturi, hardcore dei primi anni, jungle e ritmi IDM intricati, oltre ad altri strumenti DJ non classificabili, fondendo classici senza tempo con suoni all'avanguardia.
