Black Light Disco shins up the myhouseradio.fm Christmas Tree with the aim of getting your festive holiday week started with a bang. 

Our resident and BLD Chief Elf, Esteban was in the Gift Wrapping Room here in BLD Towers making his list (and checking it twice) to see who’s been naughty or nice. Spoiler alert - he’s nowhere near as judgemental as the ‘big fella in red’ so for the first hour he was dishing out the disco gifts for everyone. Expect crackers from the likes of Uptown Funk, Da Lukas, Pavel Svetlove, Prospect Park & Dave Lee, Ken@Work, Romy Black and Agent Stereo to name but seven.

For the second hour we have a very, special guest taking over the tinsel-laden decks - the one and only Ruff Diamond! 

Chris ‘Ruff Diamond’ Robinson is a widely acclaimed British producer, DJ and musician. Described by some of the key figures in the music industry as being a musical genius who combines versatility with vision, innovation, soul and passion, he has built up an impressive list of major and independent artist credits, transcending genres ranging from commercial R&B to Underground Electronic, Disco and straight up West Coast Funk, generating millions of worldwide record sales and streams.

Chris’ career has spanned over two decades since starting as a young session musician on the vibrant music scene in Manchester. Making his name as a ‘go to’ Funk guitarist, he has gone on to record and perform with a plethora of successful Artists including Maxi Priest, Grandmaster Flash, The Shapeshifters and Groove Armada.  His sound soon alerted the attention of USA label executives, and huge opportunities started landing from the other side of the Atlantic. 

As Ruff Diamond’s sound has evolved, his lifetime love of Boogie, Funk and Disco has very much come to the forefront of everything he is doing, and he is now making a significant impact in the genres as a Artist, Producer, DJ, and Label Boss having founded Manchester based SupaEarth Records in 2018. With recent releases on respected labels such as Big Love, Midnight Riot, Strictly Rhythm, Masterworks, Hot Digits, Rare Wiri and his own imprint, he is now becoming a man in great demand working on projects for the most coveted labels. 

We are absolutely delighted to land such a talented cookie for his BLD debut and we know you’re going to love what he has in store for us!

The Black Light Disco show launched itself into the myhouseradio.fm stratosphere one more with another classic to get your feet tappin’ and your fingers a-poppin. 

Taking control of the decks in the 'sonic sensory room' deep within BLD Towers is our resident Esteban (aka Ste Hendry), who was spinning tunes form the likes of Pete Maxey & Art of Tones, Lup Ino, Reverendos of Soul, Phonk D, Vaudafunk and D.C La Rue to name but a few. 

For the second hour, we have one of the hottest names on the scene right now on guest mix duties, someone who we’ve really been looking forward to inviting on -  Rafael Yapudjian!

Rafael Yapudjian is considered one of the great names in the Brazilian House/Disco scene and has a consistent and unique musical repertoire that brings together tracks from Soulful to Nu Disco, which incorporate sound roots from Funk and Jazz and resulting in a quite intoxicating blend for the dance floor.

A veteran of over 20 years of career, he had his first DJ residency in the former São Paulo club, Cheers, and as a result, came into the night through the booths of Vinyl and Museum, also including residency at the illustrious Pacha São Paulo, where he did many warm ups for names ranging from Louie Vega to FatBoy Slim. This opportunity opened doors for him to explore the four corners of Brazil and the world, stamping passports in Germany, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Portugal, Switzerland and Italy, to name a few.

He played at the traditional Creamfields Brasil and other major festivals, and has also won awards for 'best Deep and Soulful House DJ' by DJ Sound (2011)and 'Top 50 DJs' by House Mag and Best New DJ by VIP magazine in 2015.

Rafael is also the name behind A Casa Records and the Music Branding company D’Sound Solutions, which currently complies over 200 clients throughout Brazil. In short, he is the complete artist - always open to new sounds and constantly reinventing himself around his true passion: music.

Iry Sabir is a Yorkshire based DJ who has been around the scene for over 20 years. He started to play in 2002 until 2008 & then put things on hold to raise his family. It wasn't until 2019 where he started to pick things back up & he's slowly built up his reputation with a number of mixes ranging from Soulful House, Nu Disco, Groove, Funk, Lounge & New Retro Wave. He's done a number of Guest Mixes such as Black Light Disco, Magic Track, Discotheque, HAWT, Feel Good Fridays & Disco Waltons. He's now one of the hosts for the Disco Waltons & also his Monthly show Bearded Lounge Sunday Sessions on NDC has been going strong.

DJ since the early´s 80´s, I start DJing in bars (No Sense) then in Clubs (Resident DJ at Lux and KoolKat) and also hosting some Radio shows..
After 10 years, stopped mixing professionally. 
Influenced by the harmonic sound, beat and groove of Jazz, Soul, Funk and Disco music since very young.
Nowadays House Music is my preference but never forgetting that (old) sound that influenced all those new ones.
