I've been linking up with Tijo Aimé AKA Didier Firmin to build up this piece , Pioneer of the underground Dance and music culture for decades . We both come from the West indies ( Caribbean ) and wanted to tell a little Timeless story through this EP !

R&B producer Alphabets Heaven recently released two EPs, Siamese Burn and Everything Stays The Same, but felt constrained using too many organic sounds. So, on new EP Wander (due May 20 via WotNot), the Brighton producer but has put more focus on sound design and a more open approach to styles. A perfect little number for the post-rave early hours, "Say What You Mean" sees Charo's gentle tones swim gracefully through the slippery, shimmering synths while a gentle beat clicks and pops subtly at the surface. The result is an ultra-smooth, sparkling take on R&B that sets the scene for a very promising future for Alphabets Heaven.

Next up on Eglo Records, we're pleased to announce the forthcoming LP release by Steve Spacek, 'Natural Sci-Fi' hits stores December 7th.

Natural Sci-Fi originally began production in 2005, shortly after the release of the now classic ‘Spaceshift’ album (which included the J-Dilla collaboration ‘Dollar’), but was never completed. Over the last few years Steve has added some tweaks and changes - including a new song and guests vocalists Oddisee and Natalie Slade - eventually finalising the project and readying it for its release in 2018. The album continues the post Spaceshift vibration of Steve’s signature production style and effortless vocal delivery. Swinging spaciously from past to present, packed with soul, sounding as fresh and relevant today as it did when it began back in 2005.

Since the albums inception Steve has released projects with Mark Pritchard as one half of Africa Hitech on Warp, an instrumental LP as Black Pocket for his brother D-Bridge’s Exit Records and a concept LP as Beat Spacek for Ninja Tune. Following a string of EP releases for Eglo over the last two years we are thrilled to finally be able to bring to you a full length release from one of the UK’s most unique and talented artists.

Montréal label Voyage Funktastique is proud to present their first full-length offering, by way of Koolade’s “The Hop,” a 7-track project that takes an eclectic approach to dance music. Soulful chords, gospel-like progressions, and thumpy bass lines are held together over 4x4 beats, while the song titles are a reminder to keep dancing: “The Bop,” “The Hop,” “The Chop,” “The Drop,” “The Wop,” “The Swap,” and “The Pop.”

Koolade is a producer and beatmaker hailing from Croatia, who is known for his work with hip hop legends such as Masta Ace, Ghostface Killah, Masta Killa, Diamond D, Sadat X, Sean Price, and Tony Touch, to name a few. His sound combines future funk, alternative hip hop, lo fi and future beats, and has been supported by such renowned DJs and radio shows as Joe Kay of Soulection, Walla P of Voyage Funktastique, We Funk, and XL Middleton.

Tune!! Check out this previously unreleased track from 2012 by Amsterdam based keyboardist/composer Seravince.

The entire project features Richard Spaven on drums and vocals are by Renee Neufville (RH Factor/Zhane) and Sharlene Hector (Reel People/Basement Jaxx), which will be released on vinyl in November.

Amsterdam-based label Wicked Wax continues to plug the sound of its city to a broader audience. Sometimes that sound lies in the past. For its upcoming 13th release, the label went and linked up with one of Amsterdam’s unsung heroes, who’s been a household name behind the (international) music scene. 

Keyboardist, composer and owner of the legendary Flowriders studio Vincent Helbers released his debut album ‘Hear To See’ as Seravince in 2013. A blend of broken beat, future soul and multiple adjective-jazz styles, compiled in a masterfully mixed 45-minute album. Now, 7 years later, the album is released on vinyl for the first time.

Seravince’s Hear To See sees Vincent Helbers cultivating his extensive experience inside the studio. The album is deeply rooted in broken beat drum grooves, provided by longtime collaborator and UK drummer extraordinaire Richard Spaven. These are accompanied by the jazz-inspired harmonies and solos from Seravince himself. All musical elements are one takes, recorded on analogue tape. “I want the sound to maintain the rawness and organic vibe,” Seravince explains. The sensual vocals on the album are courtesy of RH Factor singer Renee Neufville (US) and Sharlene Hector (UK), who’s worked together with Reel People and Basement Jaxx.

Organic live drums and percussion are laced with jazz harmonies and an alternation between synths and bass lines. Topped off with a smooth horn section, the album can be seen as a milestone in the maturing of the broken beat genre. It set the tone for the genre from 2013 onwards. The driving inspiration for the sound of this album was D'Angelo's modern soul masterpiece Voodoo. Seravince explains that it was one of the first albums to revert to the seventies' way of recording whole takes to tape.

“The recording of Hear to See mirrors that of D’Angelo’s Voodoo: I used the same SSL mixing desk, tape machines and mics. Although my music is more layered, I have tried to give the bass and drums that same authentic vibe.”​ – ​Seravince

The album is crafted in such a sophisticated manner, only someone who’s as experienced as Vincent can bring forward. His keen ear behind the mixing desk, composing and recording with the likes of Wu Tang Clan, Jordan Rakei, Airto Moreira, Jose James, Cinematic Orchestra, Ronald Snijders and more, and his extensive experience behind keyboards, synths and pianos; all these factors come together on this album, which is reflected in its sophistication.
