Here is Carlos Souffront playing the prized 4:30 AM slot at No Way Back At All, Sunday 5/26/13 at 1515 Broadway during the Movement weekend, where Carlos fulfilled the promise of his legendary "truth in advertising" set at the original leaky warehouse No Way Back. Vinyl artifacts intact, set includes one record that was stepped on at the first NWB. Set begins with Carlos mixing in the AFX's "Elephant Song" over BMG playing the unreleased Shake Remix of Alpha 606.

Justin Aulis Long is a sonic sorcerer, urban Homeric poet, and cosmic wanderer that exists within the liminal spaces where light meets dark. Long is the offspring of a gorgon, conceived within a brick and mortar labyrinth while surrounded by the supernatural electronic voices of angelic forces.

While engaging in themes of the uncanny and erotic, Long opens thresholds which lead to psychedelic realms during communal dance gatherings. Applications of sonic alchemy during ritual action generate vibrant forces created through collective effervescence, causing a bubbling over of ecstatic energy leading to rapture. During the rite, incantations are expressed through fusing a swarm of aural fragments composed from diverse temperaments by way of a personal and singular technique.Sacred objects (records), selector’s tools (turntables and mixer), body, spirit, harmonic and discordant voices unify and become one - The Soft Machine.

During a ritual performance, phonic collages are created intuitively on sight, sigils are aurally direct with specific intent, and offerings are bestowed before an alter, all charged by an engine of chaos. Time and space unravels while normality ruptures and disintegrates as foundational structures of the status quo are dismantled through intensive executions, founded in the practices surrounding musical selection.

(It returns Kraftwerk to the beginning of the set, as initially it had to be edited out for copyright reasons.) The intention was to create something that traversed all kinds of genres and styles — much in the same way the residents did so expertly at Hugo Ball. You’ll find everything in here from Wire to Big Audio Dynamite to the Pet Shop Boys, and so on. We have Carlos Souffront, perhaps the true lord of acid returning from the depraved depths of the San Francisco underground to unleash his unique moody vision, killing it in his closing set for IT's Come Feel The Acid party on March, 3, 2013 (3/03). His first set warming up for Tin Man was also stellar, but that pure late night intensity really shines through on this mix. His first song is Hieroglyphic Being's "The Lost Transmission", mixing out of BMG playing Erika's "Tow Ride (Marcellus Pittman Remix)."
