"It was really a surprise and such a great pleasure to receive an invitation from Interdimensional Transmissions Detroit. While speaking with Erika, she said to me :  "Regarding the style -- was kind of hoping for something slower/weirder/more experimental" - (Big SMILE on my face)
As it was especially for Samhain, I decided to celebrate the Invisible and go in healing sound material for starting, and then some ritual and ceremonial elements, imagining different steps in a dark night inner trip. The idea was to accompany a sort of meditation with the body in a slow and raw movement to an altered conscious state. At the end, you got rid of everything. Ready for a new cycle.

Even if it was quite strange to record something alone in my studio, destined to some "online" people, utterly, as it's one of the best places for me to feel connected, this set was truly an inner reflection of my person at this period of time. And I really enjoyed sharing this moment, particularly with the lovely chat people during the retransmission :-)

This friendly soul has been the head buyer at the amazing Juno record store for over two decades, which proves once again to be an outstanding source to build an impressive record collection full of gems. Besides his daytime job he is the driving force behind the Future Primitive record label, which has seen a great last release by the legendary Bluetrain (Steve O' Sullivan). The set he provided for us consists of a big chunk of Dub flavors, just how we like it. Thanks so much Milo for the tunes and to all others we say happy listening!

Life films us exactly. Our experience of it, though, lies beyond images and descriptions. Emotions, coming in irrational flashes, are non-figurable. We lose our little connection to them very quickly. We look for forms with this in mind : so they can take us to meet the subconscious. Chain reaction was a sublabel of Basic Channel founded in 1995. Peter Kuschnereit aka Substance, René Löwe aka Vainqueur, Torsten Pröfrock aka Various artists and Resilent, Andy Mellwig, Thomas Köner aka Porter Ricks, Gerhard Behles, Robert Henke, Torsten Pröfrock aka Monolake formed some of the artists of the now defunkt label.

Chain reactions is a mix tribute to the label / 1995-2003, it is influenced by glitch techno, dub and ambient. Sounds of CR are captured within tiny fragments of time and then within one’s mindspace. I think it’s important to play this mix on a decent system so you can really hear and feel the interactions between the delays, the warm basslines and the soundscapes that surrounds them.

Unsere Gefühle, unsere Affekte – sie strömen in irrationalen Momentaufnahmen auf uns ein und sind in ihrer Intensität nicht messbar. Schnell entgleiten uns diese Wahrnehmungen in ihrer Flüchtigkeit. Mit dieser Prämisse sehnen wir uns immer wieder nach deren Gestalt: Damit sie uns dem Unterbewussten begegnen lassen. Chain Reaction wurde im Jahre 1995 als Sublabel von Basic Channel gegründet. You might already be familiar with Resom (@resi-resom)’s story: originally from the German state of Thuringia, she started out throwing parties in abandoned spaces in Leipzig, the city that was central to her musical education. Since moving to Berlin, she’s found a home as a resident DJ at ://about blank. Along the way, she’s become a prominent voice in the electronic music scene, both musically and politically, believing the politics is as important to expression and communication as the music itself. 

Her Patterns of Perception 62 is part of a sound triptych of three connected mixes, a series that both explores and reflects her feelings about this difficult collective moment of ours. Unlike the diverse and eclectic party sets for which she has become known, here she takes it down a gear and delivers an ambient mix embedded in nature - offering up the perfect soundtrack for a walk in the woods, a long meditative run, or just quiet home reflection as we adjust to the new world order.
