The anticipation surrounding the forthcoming Mostra Festival is real, with only a few weeks remaining until music aficionados convene in the enchanting backdrop of Barcelona's Hangar and Castel De Montjuïc. In our ongoing collaboration with Mostra, we are thrilled to present the latest mix from an artist whose name resonates deeply within our community - Forest Drive West.

Recorded live at last year's ExtraMostra event at Lolita, where Forest Drive West shared the stage with Ana Sola & Estrato Aurora (whose set we also had the pleasure of hosting) and Mostra's own Josh Hoppen, this set epitomizes the artist's mastery cultivated over the past decade.

What unfolds in this recording is a pulsating amalgamation of tribal, bass, halftime, and techno, a signature style meticulously crafted by Forest Drive West ever since his debut EP, System in 2016. The auditory journey commences with an immediate liftoff, as infectious grooves propel the listener into an interstellar expedition akin to a spacecraft hurtling towards unexplored realms. Approximately 30 minutes into the set, Forest Drive West adeptly recalibrates the energy, initiating an exploration of novel, uncharted territories with a meticulously woven techno narrative. The seamless transition of grooves adds an element of intrigue, rendering the entire listening experience undeniably interesting.

Forest Drive West is poised to grace the illustrious "Pati" stage of the Castel De Montjuïc on the evening of Friday, March 29th—an occasion sure to be nothing short of magnificent.

It's an honor to welcome Amsterdam's Loek Frey to our series, whose meticulous attention to detail and eminent experimentalism command the mind's attention like no other. The OQAD label head and Omen Wapta collaborator invites us to peer delicately beyond the edge, unveiling a hyperintense, subsonic blur through which a primordial palette begins to emerge. “In this live I wanted to express different facets of my sound, there are stems of many new productions that will be released in the future. I tried to combine everything with the sonic aesthetics of Opificio and I think I reached a good compromise between drum n bass, IDM and techno. I hope it can evoke at least in part the emotions of that night.”

Born in Santiago, Chile, and spending years living in Hong Kong and Miami. Haumea has emerged as a true up and coming artist delivering new sounds of experimental organic and hypnotic techno as well as ambient soundscapes. At the core of Haumea’s musical philosophy lies a deep reverence for nature and its intricate rhythms. Art pieces, and animation sound design are also amongst the many other things that inspire Haumea's musical process. He believes that the inherent connection between humanity and the natural world can be translated into evocative soundscapes that resonate with listeners on a profound level. By seamlessly blending organic elements with hypnotic rhythms, Haumea crafts immersive sonic narratives that transport audiences to different realms.

"This set was recorded at dawn on a Sunday morning, closing out a long day of incredibly inspiring music. I hadn’t gone to bed yet and was so locked into the sound that by the time I started playing, I was already deep in a trance. I took over from Formant Value & Simone Bauer’s live set, picking up the momentum where they left off, then gradually brought the BPM down, leaning into psychedelic textures and trance-laced rhythms.

Those two hours flew by - we were all locked in. It’s a rare kind of magic to do what you love in a place like Refractor, where most artists stay for the whole weekend to immerse themselves in the community and support each other. Music has this way of creating deep connections, and you could feel that throughout the festival. We were part of something unique.

And the crowd... what can I say. Even after a full day of dancing, they stayed with me through the entire set, joining me on the sonic journey I was crafting to carry us into the morning."

Swiss-born, London-based artist TSUNIMAN has gracefully imprinted the London scene with their spellbinding selections from the underground, spanning raw trance, spacey techno, tribal rhythms, and progressive delights. To mark the upcoming release - The Neural Abyss - the new split-EP from Jin Synth [@jinsynth] and Marco Maldarella [@marcomaldarella], out on October 24 in two editions, KR3 reconnects with both artists for a special split mix inspired by the title and concept of the release.

This 90-minute sonic journey is divided evenly: the first 45mins. by Jin, followed by 45mins. from Marco. Together, they guide the listener through a rich blend of sounds and textures, spanning the full spectrum of electronic music. 
The mix dives deep, like a mental abyss - mirroring the immersive, introspective nature of the EP.

Think of it as a deep blue ocean of layered waves and multidimensional soundscapes, crafted four-handedly to submerge the mind.
