The anticipation surrounding the forthcoming Mostra Festival is real, with only a few weeks remaining until music aficionados convene in the enchanting backdrop of Barcelona's Hangar and Castel De Montjuïc. In our ongoing collaboration with Mostra, we are thrilled to present the latest mix from an artist whose name resonates deeply within our community - Forest Drive West.

Recorded live at last year's ExtraMostra event at Lolita, where Forest Drive West shared the stage with Ana Sola & Estrato Aurora (whose set we also had the pleasure of hosting) and Mostra's own Josh Hoppen, this set epitomizes the artist's mastery cultivated over the past decade.

What unfolds in this recording is a pulsating amalgamation of tribal, bass, halftime, and techno, a signature style meticulously crafted by Forest Drive West ever since his debut EP, System in 2016. The auditory journey commences with an immediate liftoff, as infectious grooves propel the listener into an interstellar expedition akin to a spacecraft hurtling towards unexplored realms. Approximately 30 minutes into the set, Forest Drive West adeptly recalibrates the energy, initiating an exploration of novel, uncharted territories with a meticulously woven techno narrative. The seamless transition of grooves adds an element of intrigue, rendering the entire listening experience undeniably interesting.

Forest Drive West is poised to grace the illustrious "Pati" stage of the Castel De Montjuïc on the evening of Friday, March 29th—an occasion sure to be nothing short of magnificent.

Delayed x Mostra: Forest Drive West

DSS 105 comes from the mind of enigmatic producer, DJ and liveact Aa Sudd.

Based in Germany, he primarily explores the psychotropic and hypnotic realms of sound. Delving into irregular rhythms, immersive atmospheres and kaleidoscopic patterns. With a focus on the captivating and the otherworldly, Aa Sudd delivers enveloping sets and productions, fusing elements of techno and experimental drum and bass to create a psychedelic listening experience, spreading his sound via labels such as Midgar or Mirror Zone.

It's an honor to welcome Amsterdam's Loek Frey to our series, whose meticulous attention to detail and eminent experimentalism command the mind's attention like no other. The OQAD label head and Omen Wapta collaborator invites us to peer delicately beyond the edge, unveiling a hyperintense, subsonic blur through which a primordial palette begins to emerge. I've been looking forward to sharing this episode for quite some time, and to revel in this blend of artistry and precision was truly worth the wait. Thanks Loek!

Back in 2023 we were lucky enough to release an exceptional podcast from Timnah - our ears were hooked! We immediately felt the potential and knew that she would be the DJ to provide the perfect festival afternoon soundtrack to our beloved forest.

Fast forward to Sunday afternoon at Monument Festival 2024, and Timnah’s set completely surpassed our already high expectations. From the moment she started, it was clear this was going to be something special.

Starting slow and deep, setting the stage like the opening of an epic tale, Timnah’s set unfolded layer by layer, note by note like a cinematic sonic story told deep in the forest by a master storyteller, one that could have only been by Timnah herself.

Reeko, also known as Architectural, started DJing in the late 90s and producing in the early 2000s, and he has released countless timeless records since. He founded the labels Mental Disorder and Evidence and was part of the PoleGroup collective for a decade. Collaborations with Surgeon, Oscar Mulero and Exium, as well as releases on many legendary labels, are part of his discography. Tangela’s style of aural storytelling is as distinct as it is varied. She guides the listener through deep, subby, subterranean worlds, encouraging listeners to float up through spacious, textural soundscapes full of unexpected turns, all with a nimble and playful touch. You’ll find yourself wondering how it is you got here from where you began.

Tangela’s meteoric rise through the underground scene finds its origins in her late night radio show ‘citrus’ on Eora / Sydney’s iconic FBi radio 94.5FM, currently in its fourth year of broadcasting all things “squelchy, wobbly, gooey, twisty”. Her signature style has translated from the airwaves to dance floors across many of Australia’s cult clubs, DIY warehouses and bush raves, including her own as founder of both dstreet and Minutiae Festival. A name impossible to ignore in Australia, Tangela’s sound has been shared internationally via Boiler Room, Future Intel, Lyl Radio, Refuge Worldwide and more.

Versatility is her strength. Equally in her element slowly building though chuggy downtempo, wiggy tek, and dubby breaks as she is whirling through percussive techno, minimal psy and floaty trance. Her sound is undeniably psychedelic, & one with deep connection to the Australian bush she soundtracks so regularly. Organic textures transport you to moments stomping in leafy clearings, hazy morning rays poking through the gumtrees, alongside thumping kicks drenched in subby, dubby, gurgling undertones.

For the 34rd episode of the Resilience podcast, we invite Forest On Stasys.

The creativity of Forest On Stasys is Influenced by tribal minimalist techno in the nineties and the deepest and most abstract techno currently. In his tracks the most seductive elements are the use of resonant basses perfectly combined with long and reverberated pads, extensive sonorous landscapes that are modified by continuous movement of LFO, solid grooves and strident percussions.

But not everything that comes out of his head is created with an intention to be used on the dance floor. He has a great admiration for drone and ambient tracks, without a rhythmic pattern that predominates, where the main factor is to captivate the listener with melodies that can be marked by a strong melancholy or with notes that give a certain feeling of satisfaction depending on his current mood.

At the beginning of 2019, he released his first  work 'A Vision Of Light' in Danza Nativa, where currently he is one of the pillars of the label based in Buenos Aires.
