Seit 2006 gibt es die HANSEPLATTE in Hamburg. Einen Laden im Karoviertel, der ausschließlich Musik Hamburger Labels und Hamburger Künstler verkauft. Erstaunlich, dass das geht? Ja, schon.
Aber die Musikszene der Stadt am scheinsauberen Fluss produziert auch permanent! Da wird nicht lang gefackelt, warum erst warten, bis man nach Berlin zieht? 
Dann liefern die Musikusse ihre heiligen Grale hanseatischer Braukunst auch gern persönlich in der HANSEPLATTE ab und überprüfen, ob das eigene Fach auch mit den eigenen alten Sachen richtig gefüllt ist, die bei den Großretailern längst die Biege machen mussten.
Grund genug für die HANSEPLATTE, endlich diese rare Bückware, feinste Quengelware und gefährliche Malware mal allen vorzuspielen! Ergo: das Zeug von unterm Tresen rauf auf Tonträger: LOW FIDELITY, Freundchen! Gib her, das ist ja viel geiler als das, was Du der Industrie verhökert hast.

Over the past 8 years or so we have had, along with Theo Parrish, the honour of playing the monthly residencies at a small basement club in Shoreditch, London with an impeccable sound system. After 20 years of operation, it was time to move on and close the doors on a place that has a lot to answer for in shaping modern club culture. To say this space along with the owner Ade’s singular vision was fundamental in our personal musical formation would be a complete understatement. 
 
On the day of their closing, manager Charlotte asked us if we’d put the system through its paces for the last time that the club would be open to the public. We set about packing the anthems from our respective residencies and on the night once the people were through the doors played 2 records in turn for the rest of the dance. We included tracks of our own and of friends that were made with that place in mind. Records like Daphni - Ye Ye and Four Tet - Pinnacles were made to first be played at Kieran’s nights there, and the Floating Points - Vacuum EP was born out of the CD-R night at the club, and its launch party was the trigger for Sam’s monthly residency.
 
We set this recording up just before the start of the night and unfortunately it distorts in places, but we make no apology for how joyfully noisy people get! The vibe in the room this night was typical of the club on any given night and we hope this recording captures just a fraction of the spirit of a Plastic People night.
 
A massive thank you from us to everyone that has come down to the nights over the years and supported our music there. We are truly humbled to have shared the music we love with people at this place, and your energy in turn has influenced the way we make music on an unfathomable scale. We also thank the bosses Charlotte Kepel and Ade Fakile for inviting us to the club and having faith in us over  these years! All the best for the future!

We followed his advice and prepared a 150 Session for Radio Cómeme’s 6th season that tells an acausal tale. It is moody, dark, melancholic, kindly, wasted, sunshiny, transcendental, hypnotic, earthly, out-there and nothing. If you want to look behind the sound check this: Week-End (France 1967), You Killed Me First (USA 1986), Akounak Teggdalit Taha Tazoughai (Niger 2014).

"My favorite set that we played this year at Burning Man was at Robot Heart. It was probably the only set that I really prepared for with Walshy Fire.

I'll be honest I was a lil nervous because I really wanted to make it run with energy for the full two hours and our typical audience isn't that used to a classic dub and reggae set. Myself and the whole RH crew wanted to create something really special for a sunset party and keep it true to the theme but to still feel like a Robot Heart set. The Robot Heart crew had told me that they wanted and entire set that sounded like "Major Lazer - Get Free" and I had to think hard about it. To keep the vibe going for two hours and for that record to be the climax was a challenge but I realized if you stick to your guns for the whole party and steer the audience in a direction and keep them with you, then anything is possible.  I hope you love it.. It's perfect for a party on a Sunday afternoon and represents a different side of Major Lazer"
