MOONGLADE SOUND w/ Kirill Matveev - 26.04.24

here is my recording from a wild festival called soria gathering. this one took place way up north in norway during the midnight sun, on an island way out. i played at the lovely beach stage close to ocean, where the horizon was pure and magical.

the mix contains some proper warm analog atmospheric minimal house vibes, something i thought would fit the analog sound of the function one by the great shepherd soundsystem. also the warmth of the sun that never sets felt mutual to the sound i went for.

it contains some hiccups here and there, but if you ask me this is just a beautiful charm in these times where mixes seems way too perfect, in my opinion. some errors just seems proper and original when mixing in an era filled with the indulgence of perfection.

PHILIPP GRETER is a genius. He is not only the keyboardist of the acclaimed swiss Dub band
DUB SPENCER & TRANCE HILL he is also the producer and mastermind behind the band and responsible for the crisp project ‘William S. Burroughs In Dub’.  Philipp has worked with and for The Young Gods, Yello mastermind Dieter Meier, Lee Scratch Perry, dub-maestro Gaudi,
Tim Bran of Dreadzone amongst many others. 

‘Greter Than Dub’ is being released on Liquid Sound Design, the psychedelic dub label of
Grammy Award winning producer MARTIN 'YOUTH' GLOVER: highly respected songwriter/producer, sonic pioneer, and founder and bassist of Killing Joke.

As we know that DUB is not any longer a genre specific branding in the world of sound effects and musical vibe with offbeat flavour – it is  growing constantly and ‘Greter Than Dub’ ends in this world and feels like a deconstructed version of minimal tech house inna ambient style. Almost everything on this album is grooving, swinging, vibrating and echoing in delay. It is not only an album for the dancefloor it is also a soundscape travel for the comfortable sofa trip. After his first solo album on hybrid records (the label from UMBERTO ECHO) in 2019;  ‘Greter Than Dub’ is the logical consequence of progress and quality and feels like harmonic reflections and healing moments of what´s going on in this dubby world…!  MIND BLOWING !

~ About The Story ~

Campfire at the edge of the woods, close to the beach. All begins with a rain shower but suddenly the sky becomes cloudless. Lying on your back, watching the starlit sky, listening the campfire crackling, the sound of waves crashing to shore. You enter the imaginarium, dreaming of distant galaxies. Beyond starlit skies, beyond gravity, right to the point where the music takes over…everything.
