Unveiled Nuance is the newly founded imprint by Manchester’s Means&3rd, a platform solely for his own productions. The Eastern Bloc Records staff member inaugurates his debut vinyl release with 3 tracks covering a balance between hypnotic and driving techno, in keeping with his adopted style of recent years.

‘Thought contortion’ opens the EP with a thunderous low end, propulsive rhythms and immersive sweeps of sound design, teamed with modulated synth patterns that assist the unfolding of its persistent structure. ‘Fragility of perception’ follows with its elastic 3 step synth groove and reverb rich textures which provide the bed while the percussion provides an airy dynamic. ‘Aural Dissociative’ closes the EP with an all-together headier affair, a dynamic drone providing the backdrop while flickers of rhythm supplement its evolution and heavily modulated lead lines take the focus.

Pressed on 140g Black Vinyl, reverse board full colour print sleeve with poly-lined inner sleeve complete with download code via bandcamp.

Founder and sole curator of Connection Verified, ADMINISTRATOR, presents: underADMINISTRATION, our first official full-length album and 21st release on the Connection Verified Recordings series. Its penultimate work, underADMINISTRATION contains 11 original tracks representing the digitality of ADMINISTRATOR’s world. The tracks range from blissful electronic explorations, stripped back rhythmic cuts, and straight up bleep funk, to contorted drum tracks, full force club weapons, and oddball synthesised experiments. 

Our premiere for today 'sample.28h-voc' is a melodic techno journey that is driven by hypnotic arpeggio which is pierced through by haunting synth stabs that add drama to the track.

New Month, new Mix - diesmal mit Hannie Phi (@hannie-phi)! Nachdem sie uns mit ihrem Set im Teergarten begeistert hat (https://soundcloud.com/hannie-phi/hannie-phi-teergarten-institut-fuer-zukunft-11072021), freuen wir uns umso mehr, dass Hanna für die Juli-Ausgabe einen Mix für uns aufgenommen hat. Was eine geplatzte Reise mit der transsibirischen Eisenbahn mit ihrem DJ-Werdegang zu tun hat, könnt ihr im Interview lesen:

Seit wann legst du auf und wie bist du dazu gekommen?

Ich lege seit Anfang 2020 auf. Mein eigentliches Ziel für 2020 war es mit der transsibirischen Eisenbahn durch Russland zu reisen. Leider kam da Corona dazwischen. Da ich vorher schon ab und zu an den Mixern von Freund:innen gestanden habe und es mir Spaß gemacht hat, auch selbst den einen oder anderen Übergang zu spielen, investierte ich mein Reisegeld zum 1. Lockdown in zwei Plattenspieler und einen Mixer und stehe seitdem fast täglich an den Turntables. Mein Highlight 2020 war es dann auf dem SoJungNimmerMehr Festival und ein paar Openairs aufzulegen. Die Investition hat sich also gelohnt und meine Russlandreise wird trotzdem nachgeholt! 

Gibt es Momente beim Auflegen, die du als besonders empowernt empfindest?

Wenn ich vor einer Crowd auflege, bin ich zu Beginn immer noch ziemlich aufgeregt und setze mit zitternder Hand die Nadel auf die Platte. Sobald  ich diese Aufregung nach den ersten Übergängen überwunden habe und ich merke, dass ich es schaffe einen guten Vibe auf die Tanzfläche zu bringen, macht mich das glücklich und dieses Gefühl pusht mich. Zu sehen, dass zunehmend mehr FLINTA Personen in der Leipziger Clubszene präsent sind, empfinde ich als gute Entwicklung und macht mich stolz ein Teil davon zu werden. 

Welcher ist dein All-Time-Favourite-Track?

Schwierige Frage! All-Time-Favourite-Künstlerin ist Nelly Furtado forever! Ein Track von ihr - Give it to me - gibt es auch als einen ziemlich groovigen Deephouse Edit. Ich freu mich schon, diesen bald mal auf die Tanzfläche zu bringen! 

Was hat dich für deinen Feat.Fem Mix inspiriert? Hab es eine bestimmte Stimmung oder Gedanken, den du dabei im Kopf hattest?

Als ich gefragt wurde, ob ich ein Set für Feat.Fem aufnehmen möchte, steckten wir noch mitten im Lockdown Nr.3. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt wagte ich mir noch gar nicht auszumalen, überhaupt mal wieder auf einer Tanzfläche zu stehen. Deswegen hatte ich Lust auf ein Set, welches man sowohl von der Couch aus hören kann, als auch laut beim Putzen oder abends beim Zusammensitzen mit der Peergroup. Also setzte ich mich einen Nachmittag vor mein Plattenregal und stellte eine bunte Mischung aus eintspannten, groovigen und deepen Housetunes zusammen. Mein perfekter Lockdown-Mix!

Following his debut on the label in 2019 - ‘Mind Dweller’ (COUNTER013) - Frankfurt’s Stefan Alexis is back with his next chapter of four atypical, undulating techno and acid tracks.

The EP features a sparkling up-tempo roller in collaboration with label founder Inland, ‘Eratosthene’, alongside three other diverse cuts highlighting some of the Macedonian psychotherapist’s favourite modes of play: filter-funk; acid; sampling.

This release comes on 180g 12’’ vinyl and digital, featuring artwork by Berlin-based Norwegian painter Tyra Tingleff.
