Strapontin and Zillas On Acid have both previously had a release on Optimo Music Digital Danceforce.

After becoming aware of Philadelphia’s Zillas, Belgium’s Strapontin got in touch with them and suggested a collaboration. Strapontin says “I got totally attracted by that psychedelic rave vibe and asked to work together and see where our virtual meeting could lead us. Distant work was very simple, fluid and fun.”

Strapontin describes this release as “uninhibited, positively messy and pure rave fun”.

Zillas On Acid say “these tracks are the opposite of subtle, the sonic equivalent of a VCR biting your hand.”

They are both right.

Today we’re happy to premiere Tart Jam from New York based DJ and producer, Aspetuck, who’s no stranger to Delayed. Whether it be through his most recent album released on Oslated, all original mixes, ambient sets, or one of his recent self released bandcamp EPs, Griff aka Aspetuck is never far from our minds or speakers here in Brooklyn.

Like a musical kaleidoscope, turning and twisting, snapping melodies in and out of focus, Tart Jam seems to evolve and bring the listener on an acidic journey. Each minute ending with different moments than the prior, but all made cohesive by an underslung bass line giving that all important groove.

Tart Jam and the rest of the Mind Wandering EP will be out on December 15th, under Marco Malpeso’s Wex Records imprint and their Telomere Plastic sub-label.

bsm001 CD Compilation

Lurking beneath the bridges, this was said to be a creature that was never seen by daylight. Perhaps that was because few feared to visit the trenches to find out what mischief it had been causing down there as of late... It was rumoured to live alongside the river which flowed through the old park and the old parts of the city which had become overgrown but for the occasional wanderer looking for something lost.

It was called the Chuffalump, a magical creature who was said to escort people into the outer reaches of the night and lead them in a merry dance of witchy mystery. Some sought to find it and become friends, others feared that it might warp their tiny minds leaving them but a mere semblance of their former selves...

Pigeon Steve is a familiar face amidst the underground music community in Glasgow. This is the first outing on a newly launched record label called Future State and the record has been described as a 'certified trip'. We certify the claim and reckon this one will certainly do well in the small uncertain hours of the morning.

Through their music curation work at One Eye Witness, co-founder Hylke has been silently influencing the sounds that resonate in clubs and underground dance music record collections around the world.

His newly created label Spectral Bounce takes it one step deeper, providing a platform for music imbued with eerie grooves and subtly expressive energy, capturing the listener right at their core.

SPEC01 - Force of Nature - Is the fruit of the long-standing musical relationship and shared visions of producer and Selector RDS and Spectral Bounce, the perfect catalogue opener.

Over four moody club-ready tracks, RDS dives into the sound of the after-hours, where minds are freed and darker energies are expressed. Both sides display perfectly controlled acid synthesis, heart-grabbing bass lines, cut-through drum sampling and an extremely textured and gritty mix. RDS' musical influences are clearly felt, harmoniously fusing UK 90s bleep techno, spacey tech house and dub with his own emotional perspective to club music.

The Dutch producer's distinct dance floor sound is here captured in its essence, processed through his expressive electronic machines while controlling tempo and energy in a unique manner. This EP is a sonic statement, offering the listener the Spectral Bounce sound.

pi pi pi premiere: RDS - Keep On (SPEC01)

There was an opening between the trees, an arena within which a fire burned brightly casting sparks and flames high upward toward the forest ceiling.

Shadows danced and moved in a circular motion, each swaying in time with the beat of the drums. Their faces were concealed by the darkness, for everyone was anonymous here.

The music echoed loudly, sounds of the wild. It bounced from tree to tree, becoming loud and relentless in the heat of the darkness.

This would go on all night.

Benyayer is set to release a new record on his own label. A bass driven affair which leans heavily into the UK lineage of the genre and reminds us why big soundsystems and the wobble of an undercurrent are all you might ever need.

A music compilation for Valencia to raise funds for victims of the devastating floods that hit the Spanish city in early November.

“Amor i Ritme” is the music of solidarity: 27 artists united in a single beat. A release that travels through different sounds and styles from ambient and house to industrial EBM, techno and acid in solidarity with one of the most emblematic places of the electronic music scene in Spain.

All proceeds will be split 50/50 between two charities who are helping to raise money for those affected and to rebuild communities that have been devastated: Aldis Paiporta, which helps people with disabilities who have lost everything, and the Horta SuD Foundation, which works with civil society to stimulate and strengthen the social fabric in the Valencian Community, with special attention given to programmes developed in the region of Horta Sud (Valencia).

We would like to give special thanks to each of the artists who have joined the initiative and to those who have not been able to but have supported us.

Acid House emerged in the mid-1980s in Chicago, defined by its use of the Roland TB-303 synthesiser to create squelching basslines. It gained popularity in the UK’s rave scene, heavily influencing electronic dance music. Iconic themes like "Acid Tracks" by Phuture solidified its legacy, blending psychedelia with House rhythms.

Seasoned Swedish producer Högt I Tak (SXDNS179) is not simply an Acid aficionado. He masters it! He now returns with a B.A.N.G.E.R.S.-only release on his own When Disco Goes Wrong label: The three-track "Crooked Smiley" EP showcases his mastery in blending Acid, House, and Techno elements effortlessly, conjuring an auditory experience that bridges the gap between the roots of the genre and its futuristic evolution.

Premiered here, the title track stands out with its undeniable nod to old-school Acid House. A pulsating bassline drives the track, intertwined with shimmering pads that add an ethereal layer. As the track progresses, it builds to a peak-time crescendo, making it an essential dance-floor weapon. Högt I Tak’s knack for crafting intricate, yet infectious grooves is on full display here, ensuring that "Crooked Smiley" will resonate with both Acid new listeners and old-timers alike.
